Proud Lisa took the lead inside the three-sixteenths pole and steadily pulled away to an authoritative victory in the $45,928 Stonetower Purse Friday at Keeneland.

The 3-year-old daughter of Proud Citizen ran 1 ½ miles on the “yielding” turf and carried Kent Desormeaux to his third win of the afternoon.  It was her third win in 10 career starts.

Miss Rufus finished second, 6 ¼ lengths behind the winner and 1 ½ lengths in front of third-place Cruisin’nthebridle.  It was 4 ¼ lengths back to fourth-place Doctor Carina in the field of 12 3- and 4-year-olds.

Proud Lisa, a $90,000 product of the 2007 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, earned $25,620 for owner Paul Pompa Jr. and paid $9.40.  The winner is trained by Joe Orseno.
