Follow Keeneland Fall Racing Via Broadcast and Online Coverage

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 1, 2012) – Keeneland fans around the world can follow every minute of racing action online at Keeneland’s newly redesigned website, Keeneland.com, and via broadcast as TVG Network expands its daily coverage of the fall meet, which runs October 5-27.

TVG will carry comprehensive on-site coverage of Keeneland each race day beginning at 1 p.m. (ET). Post time for the first race is 1:05 p.m. Hosts Todd Schrupp, Paul Lo Duca and Donna Barton Brothers will anchor the coverage, providing live commentary and color throughout the 17-day fall meet.

Additionally, FOX Sports affiliates such as FSN Prime Ticket, FOX Sports West, FOX Sports San Diego, Mid-Atlantic Sports, Altitude and MSG Networks will provide additional TVG coverage. Check http://msn.foxsports.com/tv/schedule to confirm broadcast times in your area.

 

Live racing, handicapping chats on Keeneland.com

Keeneland will stream live racing video free to race fans on its recently website, Keeneland.com. Online patrons also can participate in live chats and handicapping analysis hosted every race day by Jeremy Plonk and Joe Kristufek.

As always, Keeneland will stream the Trakus feed on its website, enabling fans to watch race replays in various animated formats using the patented, real-time technology.

 

Special features, race replays

Several unique magazine-style shows provide racing fans with an insider’s look at Keeneland and the Thoroughbred industry:

Keeneland Magazine on TV will be broadcast Thursday, October 4, from 7–7:30 p.m. on CWKYT (Lexington). Feature stories include “The Nicholson Years:  Nick Nicholson retires as Keeneland president after a notable career in the Thoroughbred industry;” “Country Life:  Settling at Shawnee Farm Allows Sally and Watts Humphrey to Indulge Their Passion for Horses Full-Time;” “Straight from the Horse’s Mouth: Kentucky Horse Park Program Uses Horse Books and Real Horses to Promote Literacy;” and “Performance Art:  Keeneland Auction Team Conducts a Carefully Orchestrated Show.”

Keeneland Closeup, a 30-minute show featuring behind-the-scenes stories about Keeneland, airs at 9:30 a.m. Saturdays during the race meet on WLEX-TV (Lexington).

Today at Keeneland, a recap of the day’s races will be broadcast each race night on CWKYT (Lexington) at 7 p.m. Wednesdays thru Fridays and at 6:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The telecast is also re-broadcast on TVG the following day (check listings at www.tvgnetwork.com).

 

On the radio

Lexington-based Horse Racing Radio Network, winner of the 2010 Eclipse Award in the Audio/Multi-Media Internet category, will further expand its coverage of Keeneland’s fall racing season.

Through HRRN, live coverage of many of the track’s stakes races will be broadcast in Lexington at HANK 96.1 FM, as well as on a number of radio stations in Kentucky and worldwide via free live streaming on HorseRacingRadio.net. HRRN coverage also is available on SiriusXM satellite radio.

HRRN’s newly launched HRRNLive! will provide Keeneland coverage Wednesdays-Fridays beginning at 3 pm.

Racing fans can also tune in to Keeneland editions of HRRN’s “Equine Forum” every Saturday during the meet from 8-10 a.m. on HANK 96.1 FM in Lexington, ESPN680 AM in Louisville or worldwide with free live streaming on HorseRacingRadio.net and on Sirius 93 - XM 209.
