About Turf Catering
Turf Catering Company has been the exclusive caterer for Keeneland since the track opened in 1936. The company has been owned and operated by the Wolken family since it was founded in 1929. Today Larry, Mike and Brad Wolken operate Turf Catering.
Every year, Keeneland hosts nearly one million visitors from all over the world. While Keeneland's great horses, breathtaking racing and majestic backdrop fills the hearts of racing fans, the burgoo, the mile-high corned beef sandwiches, the bread pudding with Maker's Mark bourbon sauce and award-winning menus fill their tummies.
Turf Catering has approximately 65% past seasonal staff return every season to join the full-time staff. An additional 300 employees are needed to assist in supervising, preparing, transporting and serving the multitudes of customers that attend the races each day as well as the horse sales and special events.
