Jenny Wiley was a Virginia pioneer who survived an Indian attack, captivity and the murders of her five children and three brothers. After escaping captivity and reuniting with her husband, Wiley and her family moved to Kentucky, where her legend is commemorated with two highway markers, a state park and an outdoor drama. Coolmore began to sponsor the race named in her honor in 2016.
The $350,000 Coolmore Jenny Wiley (G1) is for 4-year-olds and up, fillies and mares going 1 1/16 miles on turf. The nomination fee is $150; nominations close March 29.
