Grade 1 Winner Magic Attitude Heads List of 11 Invitees to Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Presented by Dixiana

Lael Stables’ Magic Attitude (GB), winner of the Belmont Oaks Invitational (G1) in her U.S. debut last month, heads a list of 11 3-year-old fillies invited to the 37th running of the $500,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) Presented by Dixiana to be run Saturday, Oct. 10 at 1 1/8 miles over the Keeneland turf course.

Trained by Arnaud Delacour, Magic Attitude went from last to first to win the Belmont Oaks by 2¼ lengths overAntoinette, one of two invitees to the Keeneland race for trainer Bill Mott.

Owned by Godolphin, Antoinette won the Saratoga Oaks Invitational in August for Mott, who won the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup in 2014 with Crown Queen. Mott’s other invitee is the Estate of Harvey Clarke and Paul Braverman’s Harvey’s Lil Goil, winner of the Regret (G3) at Churchill Downs.

Other invitees include the 1-2 finishers from the Del Mar Oaks (G1): Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners’ Red Lark (IRE)and Wachtel Stable and Gary Barber’s California Kook; Robert and Lawana Low’s Sweet Melania, winner of the JPMorgan Chase Jessamine (G2) here last fall; Waterford Stable’s Speaktomeofsummer, winner of the Lake Placid (G2); Godolphin’s Micheline, winner of Exacta Systems Dueling Grounds Oaks at Kentucky Downs; Stonestreet Stables’ Hendy Woods, winner of the Indiana Grand (L); Meridian International’s Tamahere (FR), trained by three-time QE2 winner Chad Brown; and Dennis Park’s Lucky Betty, third in the recent Edgewood (G2) Presented by Forcht Bank at Churchill Downs.
