During the 2017 Spring Meet, won the Stonestreet Lexington (G3) on Senior Investment.

First win at Keeneland came during the 2009 Spring Meet.

First stakes win at Keeneland was the 2013 Bourbon (G3) on Poker Player.


Runner-up for the 2005 Eclipse Award as outstanding apprentice jockey (to Emma-Jayne Wilson). Led all apprentice riders in New York that year with 115 wins.

North American career earnings exceed $45 million with 1,105 wins through January 29, 2018.

2017 earnings were $3,443,180 with 58 wins, including the Stonestreet Lexington (G3) at Keeneland aboard Senior Investment and Fair Grounds Oaks (G2) and Chilukki (G2) with Farrell.

2016 earnings were $3,840,331with 90 wins, including the Golden Rod (G2) with Farrell and Wise Dan (G2) with Pleuven (FR).

Earned 1,000th career win on June 24, 2016, when he rode Shut the Gate to win the eighth race at Churchill Downs.

2015 earnings were $1,949,700 with 53 wins, including the Robert G. Dick Memorial (G3) at Delaware Park aboard Ceisteach (IRE).

​2014 earnings were $2,894,831 with 73 wins, including the Fantasy (G3) on Sugar Shock.

Best year to date was 2008 when his mounts earned $6,127,969 and he won nine stakes, including the Forego (G1) on First Defence, Black-Eyed Susan (G2) on Sweet Vendetta and Barbara Fritchie (G2) on Golden Dawn.

Won two $75,000 stakes at Suffolk Downs on July 10, 2010, the track’s 75th anniversary.


Channing’s father, Allan, was a jockey who won 667 races between 1976 and 1999. Channing started riding three days after his 16th birthday at the Columbus Agricultural Park in Nebraska and rode at Prairie Meadows in Iowa during summers between high school. He moved to New York after graduating early from high school and finished second in balloting for the 2005 Eclipse Award as outstanding apprentice. He rode in Saudi Arabia for about four months in 2012. His stepsister, Stephanie Korger, also has been a jockey.

Channing is married to trainer Wayne Catalano’s daughter Shelbi.
