Keeneland Sales Graduates Bast, Thousand Words Impress in Graded Stakes Wins

Keeneland sales graduates Bast and Thousand Words, both trained by Bob Baffert, notched wins in the Starlet (G1) and Los Alamitos Futurity (G2), respectively, on Saturday.

The Starlet was the third Grade 1 victory this season for Bast, who also won the Del Mar Debutante and Chandelier. She is a likely finalist for the Eclipse Award as champion 2-year-old filly. Bast also improved her position to second on the 2020 Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1) leaderboard.

Thousand Words won the Los Alamitos Futurity in only his second career start to remain undefeated and earn 10 points on the 2020 Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1).
