Keeneland September Sale Graduates Venetian Harbor, Nadal, Sole Volante Enhance Oaks, Derby Credentials

September Sale alumni also run 1-2-3 in the UAE 2000 Guineas at Meydan

Graduates of Keeneland’s 2018 September Yearling Sale excelled on the world stage last week, finishing 1-2 in the Las Virgenes (G2), San Vicente (G2) and Sam F. Davis (G3), and 1-2-3 in the UAE 2000 Guineas (G3) at Meydan. 

With their impressive performances, Venetian HarborNadal and Sole Volante established themselves as rising stars on the U.S. classic trail.

Venetian Harbor cruised to a 9¼-length victory in the Las Virgenes, her first race around two turns, to earn 10 points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1). Gingham finished second. 

The talented Nadal won the San Vicente over Ginobili in only his second career start to become an exciting addition to the Triple Crown trail. Sole Volante captured the Sam F. Davis over favored Independence Hall to secure a spot on the Kentucky Derby (G1) leaderboard. 

September Sale alumni, led by winner Fore Left, ran 1-2-3 in the UAE 2000 Guineas Sponsored by Masdar at Meydan.

At Gulfstream, two-time Canadian champion Starship Jubilee recorded her sixth graded stakes win with a romp in the Suwannee River (G3).
