Keeneland Sales Graduates Monomoy Girl, My Boy Jack Progress Toward Oaks, Derby Goals

Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduates Monomoy GirlClassy Act and Wonder Gadot swept the top three spots in Saturday’s Rachel Alexandra (G2) at Fair Grounds to earn points that rank them among the top five fillies on the 2018 Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1) leaderboard. With her victory, Monomoy Girl now sits atop the Oaks leaderboard with 54 points and has connections eyeing a possible next start in Keeneland’s $500,000 Central Bank Ashland (G1) on April 7.

Keeneland sales alumni finished 1-2-3-4 in Monday’s Southwest (G3) at Oaklawn to earn all 17 points available in the race on the 2018 Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1) leaderboard. My Boy Jack splashed to a 4½-length victory, followed by CombatantSporting Chance and Mourinho.  

At Golden Gate, September Sale graduate Paved became the first filly to win the El Camino Real Derby and with it earn 10 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.

Keeneland-sold Ms Locust Point and Fault won the Barbara Fritchie (G2) at Laurel and Buena Vista (G2) at Santa Anita, respectively, on Saturday. Ms Locust Point is pointed at Keeneland’s $300,000 Madison (G1) on April 7.
