LEXINGTON, KY (April 26, 2013) – Owners Ken and Sarah Ramsey reached another milestone during Keeneland’s 16-day spring meet when their Dark Cove captured the 28th running of the $150,000 Elkhorn Stakes (G2) before 19,216 fans on closing day. With the victory, the Ramseys recorded their eighth graded stakes win at the track and received a gold tray that is part of Keeneland’s signature graded stakes trophy program.

Only 17 other owners in track history have achieved such an honor.

“I can’t believe we’ve doubled the old record of 12 wins (in a single Keeneland meet). To win 24 is unbelievable. The low point about today is my wife (Sarah) had to be taken to the hospital yesterday. She’s not doing that well but nothing life-threatening. That’s the only sad part, that she’s not able to be here with me. But this is almost like heaven.”

LEXINGTON, KY (April 25, 2013) – Despite his dominating performance during the Keeneland spring meet, jockey Joel Rosario was overlooked by handicappers and rode 18-1 longshot Strathnaver (GB) to win the 52^nd running of the $150,000 Bewitch Stakes (G3) before 11,921 fans on Thursday. The victory was one of Rosario’s five wins on the day on which he broke the spring meet record of 32 victories set by Randy Romero in 1990.
