Quotes from the $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass (G1)

Peter Eurton (winning trainer of Dance With Fate)

On whether Dance With Fate will run in the Kentucky Derby (G1) Presented by Yum! Brands

“I just don’t know. It’s three weeks and kind of quick back. I know he loves synthetic better, (likes) turf. I just don’t know if he likes dirt. I know I’m going to hear it from everybody, though.”

Corey Nakatani (winning rider)

Quotes from $300,000 Jenny Wiley (G1)

Michael Matz (winning trainer of Hard Not to Like)

“I’m just so delighted and so happy for her. I was out of breath riding her; I don’t know how Javier (Castellano) did it.”

Javier Castellano (winning jockey)

Quotes from the $300,000 Madison (G1)

Wesley Ward (winning owner and trainer of Judy the Beauty)

“I’m ecstatic. She’s been so unlucky so many different times when she’s been beaten right on the money. To finally vindicate with a Grade 1 (victory) is just unbelievable.”

On whether Judy the Beauty is getting better with age

Quotes from $100,000 Shakertown (G3)

Bret Calhoun (winning trainer of Marchman)

“We thought the firm turf here would help him a lot. He’s a big, heavy horse and we thought the firmer going would be good for him and he obviously likes the grass. (Jockey) Robby (Albarado) made a great decision right away from there. The horse was going very easy the first quarter mile and I think that won the race. Robby made some split-second decisions and obviously made the right decision this time.”

LEXINGTON, KY (April 11, 2014) – Morton Fink’s homebred Wise Dan, Horse of the Year in 2012 and 2013, opened his 2014 campaign with a three-quarter-length victory over Kaigun to win the 26th running of the $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile (G1) before a crowd of 14,325 on Friday afternoon at Keeneland. Quotes from the $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile (G1)

Charlie LoPresti (winning trainer of Wise Dan)

“I was worried about it (because the race marked Wise Dan’s 2014 debut) just because of the winter and how much (training) time we lost. I told (jockey) Johnny (Velazquez) going into the race that ‘I just don’t have him as tight as I need to but just give him an easy race and if he’s good enough to win just do the best you can to save him for the next one.’ This one is going to put us where we need to be.”
