Quotes from the $200,000 Beaumont (G2) Presented by Keeneland Select

Chad Brown (winning trainer of Ready to Act)

“She really deserved to win a Grade 2. She had a race as a 2-year-old up in Canada (the Grade 2 Natalma on Sept. 14 at Woodbine) where she was clearly in front and lost the jock and lost her chance to win a Grade 2. (Jockey) Javier (Castellano) did a great job once again keeping her straight. As you can see, she’s a work in progress. We still have some things to work out with her, but if we do get her running straight down the lane she’s probably going to gain a few lengths.

Christina Jelm (assistant to Jerry Hollendorfer, winning trainer of Ciao Bella Luna)

“She shipped (to Keeneland from California) beautifully. She settled right in, and she’s been very comfortable. It’s been great to get her back on the synthetic surface. Jerry and racing manager Mark Cornett have found her niche, I think.”

Joel Rosario (winning rider)

“I got a perfect trip. Turning for home, I knew she had plenty left. She did good today.”
