Carpe Diem Romps to Victory in $1 Million Toyota Blue Grass

LEXINGTON, KY (April 4, 2015) – WinStar Farm and Stonestreet Stables’ Carpe Diem took command in upper stretch and cruised to a three-length victory over Danzig Moon in the 91st running of the $1 million Toyota Blue Grass (G1) before a crowd of 26,357 on Saturday.

Keeneland Sales Graduates Carpe Diem, Dortmund Top Weekend Graded Stakes Entries

LEXINGTON, KY (April 3, 2015) – More than 60 Keeneland sales graduates are entered in graded stakes during a blockbuster weekend of racing. Seven of the eight sophomores entered in Keeneland’s $1 million Toyota Blue Grass (G1) on Saturday are sales alumni, including favored Carpe Diem, winner of last fall’s Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1) here. Also headlining the weekend is the undefeated Dortmund, who goes postward in Saturday’s Santa Anita Derby (G1).

Extrasexyhippzster Works for Toyota Blue Grass

Kirwan Equine Group Inc. and Ed Hipps’ Extrasexyhippzster worked five furlongs in company in 1:00 on a cool, clear Sunday morning at Keeneland.

With jockey Stewart Elliott up, Exxtrasexyhippzster started four lengths behind workmate War Ready and posted fractions of :12.80, :24.80, :36.20 and galloped out six furlongs in 1:13.40. Extrasexyhippzster finished two lengths back at the wire and drew even on the gallop out.
