SIX HORSES POINTED TO BREEDERS’ CUP WORK FRIDAY MORNING

Four horses pre-entered in the 34th Breeders’ Cup World Championships Nov. 3-4 at Del Mar each worked 4 furlongs Friday on a fast Keeneland track after the morning renovation break, and later in the morning another two Breeders’ Cup pre-entrants worked 4 furlongs over the firm turf course.

YANAKOV TO SEND GOLDEN DRAGON TO BREEDERS’ CUP

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 26, 2017) – Russian-born Mikhail Yanakov is excited about running a horse he bred, owns and trains in the 34th Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Del Mar. The horse is Golden Dragon, who is scheduled to make his next start Nov. 4 in the $2 million Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).

JUDDMONTE SPINSTER WINNER ROMANTIC VISION WORKS FOR BREEDERS’ CUP DISTAFF

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 26, 2017) – G. Watts Humphrey Jr.’s Juddmonte Spinster (G1) winner Romantic Vision, scheduled to make her next start in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) on Nov. 3 at Del Mar, worked 4 furlongs in :48 Thursday at Keeneland.

FIRST LADY WINNER ZIPESSA BEGINS DEL MAR PREPARATIONS ON TRAINING TRACK

Empyrean Stables’ Zipessa, who earned a return trip to the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1) with a victory in the First Lady (G1) here Oct. 7, began her preparations for the Nov. 4 race at Del Mar with a half-mile breeze in :48.60 on Keeneland’s 5-furlong all-weather training track Saturday.

“She can get wound up and for her first work back I wanted to use the training track because it is nice and quiet,” trainer Mike Stidham said. “For her final work here next week, it will be on the turf.”

Keeneland is home to a number of contenders for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Del Mar on Nov. 3-4. A few runners already have departed for California.

LEXINGTON, KY (April 12, 2017) – Keeneland’s $400,000 First Lady (G1), a 1-mile turf race to be run Oct. 7 during opening Fall Stars weekend of Keeneland’s Fall Meet, has been added to the slate of 2017 Breeders’ Cup Challenge races, 81 stakes that reward the winner with an automatic berth into corresponding races of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships to be held Nov. 3-4 at Del Mar. Keeneland Sales Graduates Dominant over Breeders’ Cup Weekend

Siblings to Classic Empire, Champagne Room and Fair Point cataloged to November Sale 

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 7, 2016) –  Keeneland sales graduates won more than half the graded stakes contested in North America this weekend, headlined by eight of the 13 races in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships held Nov. 4-5 at Santa Anita, among them the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) with Arrogate and $2 million Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) with Beholder.
