BREEDERS’ CUP ANNOUNCES KEENELAND AS THE HOST OF 2015 BREEDERS’ CUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Lexington, Ky. (June 24, 2014) – The Breeders’ Cup, one of Thoroughbred racing’s most prestigious international events, has today announced Keeneland Race Course, in Lexington, Ky., as the host site of the 2015 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. This is the first time that Keeneland, one of the most iconic tracks in the country, will play host to the Breeders’ Cup. The event will be held on October 30-31, 2015.

Horses with Keeneland Connections Win 7 Breeders’ Cup World Championships

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 4, 2013) – Keeneland-connected horses captured seven Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Keeneland sales graduates won five Breeders’ Cup stakes – Beholder (Distaff-G1), New Year’s Day (Juvenile-G1), Secret Circle (Sprint-G1), Mizdirection (Turf Sprint-G1), and London Bridge (Marathon-G2).

Wise Dan, Groupie Doll, Beholder Among Keeneland-Connected Breeders’ Cup Winners

Congratulations to the Keeneland-connected Breeders’ Cup World Championship winners!  Keeneland sales graduates won five Breeders’ Cup Championships – Beholder (Distaff-G1), New Year’s Day (Juvenile-G1), Secret Circle (Sprint-G1), Mizdirection (Turf Sprint-G1), and London Bridge (Marathon-G2).  Two champions who successfully defended their titles, Wise Dan and Groupie Doll, prepped for the Breeders’ Cup with races at Keeneland this fall.

Keeneland Sales Graduates Showcased on Breeders’ Cup Saturday

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 1, 2013) – Thirty-seven Keeneland sales graduates will compete in Breeders’ Cup World Championship races on Saturday, headlined by Grade 1 stakes winners Game On Dude (morning-line favorite), Palace Malice, Will Take Charge and Paynter in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). Ten of the 13 horses going postward in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) are Keeneland sales graduates.

Keeneland Sales Alumni Prominent Among Breeders' Cup Entries

Multiple champion Royal Delta and 2013 Belmont (G1) winner Palace Malice are among the 60 Keeneland sales alumni who are entered for the 2013 Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 1-2 at Santa Anita. The event, which consists of 14 races worth a total of $27 million, drew a total of 172 pre-entered horses.

Keeneland to Simulcast Breeders’ Cup World Championships Nov. 1-2

General admission and parking are free on Nov. 1-2 when Keeneland simulcasts the $27 million Breeders’ Cup World Championships from Santa Anita.

Gates open at 11 a.m. (ET). Simulcasting begins at 12:25 p.m. on Friday and 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. In addition to the Breeders’ Cup, patrons can wager on simulcast racing from such prominent tracks as Churchill Downs, Aqueduct, Golden Gate, Woodbine, Gulfstream and Hawthorne, among others.

Keeneland Fall Meet Represented by 30 Breeders' Cup Pre-entered Horses

A total of 30 horses that raced at Keeneland during the fall meet were pre-entered in the 30thBreeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 1-2 at Santa Anita. The event, which consists of 14 races worth a total of $27 million, drew a total of 172 pre-entered horses.

71 Keeneland Sales Graduates Entered in the Breeders’ Cup

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 1, 2012) – Keeneland is represented by 71 sales graduates entered in the 2012 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, to be held November 2-3 at Santa Anita.
