Prewitt and Pettit Capture Vegas Berths in Keeneland Tournament of Champions

In catching 5-1 shot Picture Me Mad in the 10th race at Churchill Downs, Cory Prewitt of Lexington and Robert Pettit of Morehead finished on top of 105 entrants in Keeneland’s Tournament of Champions on Saturday night. They both earned fully-paid entries into the March 2014 Horseplayers World Series in Las Vegas.

Players qualified for the Tournament of Champions by finishing in the top ten of Keeneland’s many tournaments throughout the year.

Local Players Dominate Keeneland DRF/NTRA Handicapping Challenge

Players come from across the country twice a year to Keeneland to compete in the DRF/NTRA qualifying tournament for the National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas.  On Saturday, just like the Kentucky Wildcats in Rupp Arena, the local players had a home court advantage, and all three winners were from the Lexington area.

Local Handicapper Bests Stellar Field in Keeneland BCBC/DRF-NTRA Qualifier

A field of 42 of the best tournament players in North America competed Sunday in the first Keeneland Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge/DRF-NTRA National Championship qualifier.  Four spots in the BCBC and four spots in the National Handicapping Championship were at stake, and the players each posted $3,000 to take their shots.
