All-Jockey Panel Joins Lukas at Fifth “It’s my Derby” April 17 at Keeneland

LOUISVILLE, KY (March 3, 2015) – The Kentucky Derby Museum is proud to announce the return of “It’s my Derby,” a unique event where the biggest names in racing share their Derby-winning experiences. This year’s special event will be held at Keeneland on Friday, April 17, where host and Racing Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas will be joined on stage by a panel of Hall of Fame jockeys.

19,344 Fans Celebrate Kentucky Derby Day at Keeneland

LEXINGTON, KY (May 3, 2014) – Keeneland hosted 19,344 fans for its 20th annual Kentucky Derby Day celebration on Saturday. The crowd enjoyed picnics in the Paddock and Walking Ring, live music, pony rides and children’s activities and a sold-out Derby Bash at the Keeneland Entertainment Center & Keene Barn on a picture-perfect spring day. Fans at Keeneland wagered $1,791,422 on the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1), won by Steve Coburn and Perry Martin’s favored California Chrome. 

Keeneland Sales Graduates in Spotlight on Kentucky Derby Day

LEXINGTON, KY (May 1, 2014) – Forty-five Keeneland sales alumni were entered in graded stakes to be held Kentucky Derby Day, Saturday, May 3. Ten of the 21 horses entered in the $2 million Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) are Keeneland sales graduates, led by Grade 1 winners Danza and Wicked Strong.

Ten Keeneland Sales Graduates Entered in Kentucky Derby

LEXINGTON, KY (May 1, 2014) – Ten 3-year-olds who are graduates of Keeneland sales, including Grade 1 winners Danza and Wicked Strong, are among the 21 horses entered in Saturday’s 140th running of the $2 million Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1).

Keeneland has sold 19 Kentucky Derby winners, most recently 2012 winner I’ll Have Another. Keeneland sales graduates have won nine of the past 12 Triple Crown races and include 2013 Preakness (G1) winner Oxbow and Belmont (G1) winner Palace Malice.

Toyota Blue Grass (G1) third-place finisher Pablo Del Monte has 20 points on the road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) and is 22nd on the list of point earners vying for the 20 positions in the starting gate for the May 3 race. This morning, breeder, trainer and co-owner Wesley Ward worked the Giant’s Causeway colt six furlongs in 1:11.20 to prepare for a possible start in the race.
