Keeneland Announces 2014 Fall Meet Stakes Schedule

Sponsors Claiborne, Dixiana and Lane’s End PushTotal Purses for 17 Stakes to $4.925 Million 

LEXINGTON, KY (June 10, 2014) – Keeneland will offer 17 stakes worth a total of $4.925 million during its 2014 Fall Meet from Oct. 3-25. The 17-day season will award approximately $600,000 in average daily purses as one of the richest racing programs in North America, while Keeneland debuts a state-of-the-art dirt surface on the main track and features races for horses headed to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 4, 2013) – Keeneland-connected horses captured seven Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Keeneland sales graduates won five Breeders’ Cup stakes – Beholder (Distaff-G1), New Year’s Day (Juvenile-G1), Secret Circle (Sprint-G1), Mizdirection (Turf Sprint-G1), and London Bridge (Marathon-G2).

Keeneland Fall Meet Represented by 30 Breeders' Cup Pre-entered Horses

A total of 30 horses that raced at Keeneland during the fall meet were pre-entered in the 30thBreeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 1-2 at Santa Anita. The event, which consists of 14 races worth a total of $27 million, drew a total of 172 pre-entered horses.

Kitten Kaboodle Uses Inside Trip to Win JPMorgan Chase Jessamine

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 9, 2013) – Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s homebred Kitten Kaboodle found room on the rail at the head of the stretch and spurted clear to win the 23rd running of the $150,000 JPMorgan Chase Jessamine (G3) for 2-year-old fillies by 4 3/4 lengths over favored Zinzay before a sun-splashed Wednesday afternoon crowd of 12,186 at Keeneland.

The victory earned Kitten Kaboodle a berth in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) to be run Nov. 1 at Santa Anita.

Garden City Winner Alterite Headlines Deep Field for 30th Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 9 2013) – Martin Schwartz’s Alterite (FR), a 1 1/2-length winner of the Garden City (G1) in her North American debut last month, headlines a deep field of nine 3-year-old fillies entered Wednesday for Saturday’s 30th running of the $400,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) to be contested at 1 1/8 miles on the turf.

The QE II will go as the ninth race on Saturday’s 10-race program that begins at 1:05 p.m. (ET). Post time for the QE II is 5:21 p.m.

Fall Stars Weekend Concludes With Emollient Impressive in Juddmonte Spinster and Poker Player Rallying to Win Bourbon

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 6, 2013) – Juddmonte Farms’ Emollient, the lone 3-year-old filly in the field, delivered a last-to-first 1¼-length victory in the 58th running of the $500,000 Juddmonte Spinster (G1) for fillies and mares before a crowd of 9,034 on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Keeneland.

The victory earned Emollient a berth in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) to be run Nov. 1 at Santa Anita.
