Keeneland sales graduates topped both sessions at the just-concluded Tattersalls Two-Year-Old Sale in Newmarket, England, on April 17 and April 18, with one setting a European record for a horse sold at a breeze-up sale.

On Thursday, April 18, an Elusive Quality colt sold for 760,000 guineas, or about $1.2 million, to Jamie McCalmont, setting a European record for a horse sold at a breeze-up auction. Out of the Miesque’s Son’s mare Gender Dance, the colt previously sold for $120,000 to Margaret O’Toole at Keeneland’s 2012 September Yearling Sale.

LEXINGTON, KY (April 13, 2013) – Keeneland sales graduates top the fields for today’s two preps on the Road to the Kentucky Derby – Keeneland’s Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) and Oaklawn’s Arkansas Derby (G1). Uncaptured and Rydilluc, both graduates of the 2011 September Yearling Sale, are the early favorites in the Toyota Blue Grass, while fellow September Sale grads War Academy and Oxbow highlight the Arkansas Derby.

LEXINGTON, KY (April 6, 2013) – Keeneland sales grads figure prominently in today’s Kentucky Derby (G1) and Kentucky Oaks (G1) preps – unbeaten Tampa Bay Derby (G2) winner Verrazano is favored in the Wood Memorial Stakes (G1) at Aqueduct; Robert B. Lewis Stakes (G2) winner Flashback highlights the Santa Anita Derby (G1), and champion and Las Virgenes Stakes (G1) winner Beholder headlines the Santa Anita Oaks (G1).

LEXINGTON, KY (March 29, 2013) – Graduates of Keeneland sales top the entries in the weekend’s four classic prep races. On the Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1), Keeneland-sold champion Shanghai Bobby and Holy Bull Stakes (G3) winner Itsmyluckyday are favored in the Besilu Stables Florida Derby (G1), while Withers Stakes (G3) winner Revolutionary and the highly regarded Palace Malice highlight the Louisiana Derby (G2).

LEXINGTON, KY (March 25, 2013) – Keeneland sales graduate Twilight Eclipse established a world-record time of 2:22.63 for 1½ miles on the turf in his four-length win in Saturday’s Pan American Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream. Also on Saturday, Keeneland sales alumni Sky Kingdom and Oilisblackgold finished 1-2 in the Tokyo City Cup (G3) at Santa Anita.
