Keeneland Sales Graduates Shine at Del Mar

LEXINGTON, KY (July 22, 2016) – As Del Mar near San Diego, Calif., enters its second weekend of racing for its 2016 summer meet, we look back at its 2015 summer season when Keeneland sales graduates thrived “where the surf meets the turf.”

Keeneland sales graduates won 11 of Del Mar’s 21 graded stakes last year, including:

  • Five of seven Grade 1 races.
  • Five of 10 Grade 2 races.

All are graduates of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale, whose 2016 edition runs Sept. 12-25.

LEXINGTON, KY (July 8, 2016) – Catch a Glimpse, the 2015 Canadian Horse of the Year who was purchased at Keeneland’s 2014 September Yearling Sale, headlines the field for the Belmont Oaks Invitational (G1) on Saturday at Belmont that includes three additional graded stakes-winning September Sale graduates. In all, 46 alumni of Keeneland sales are set to run in graded stakes across the country this weekend.

Keeneland September Sale Graduates Sweep Grade 1 Mother Goose, Claim Victories on International Stage

LEXINGTON, KY (July 5, 2016) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale alumni won major races in three countries over the weekend, reinforcing the global importance of the world’s leading Thoroughbred marketplace. Off the Tracks led a Keeneland sales graduate sweep of the Mother Goose (G1) at Belmont in the U.S., Hawkbill won the Coral-Eclipse (G1) at Sandown in England and Sir Dudley Digges claimed the $1 million Queen’s Plate at Woodbine in Canada.

Keeneland September Sale Graduates Beholder, Catch a Glimpse Dominant Weekend Winners

LEXINGTON, KY (June 6, 2016) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate Beholder won Saturday’s Vanity Mile (G1) at Santa Anita under a hand-ride from Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens, who called the champion mare the best horse he’s ever ridden. That same afternoon, 2015 Canadian Horse of the Year and Grade 1 winner Catch a Glimpse cruised to an easy 2¼-length win over males in the Penn Mile (G3) at Penn National.
