Keeneland-Sold Den’s Legacy, Revolutionary Highlight Derby Preps

LEXINGTON, KY (Feb. 1, 2013) – Keeneland sales graduates with classic aspirations compete in three Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1) preps on Saturday. All four entries in Santa Anita’s Robert B. Lewis (G2) are Keeneland sales alumni, which features Grade 3 winner Den’s Legacy, high weighted at 120 pounds, and the talented He’s Had Enough.

Keeneland Sale Graduates and Champions Shanghai Bobby, Beholder Top Experimental Free Handicap

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 30, 2013) – Eclipse Award winners Shanghai Bobby and Beholder, both graduates of Keeneland’s 2011 September Yearling Sale, were assigned high weight in the male and filly divisions, respectively, of the 2012 Experimental Free Handicap, announced today by The Jockey Club.

Each of the nine high-weighted colts, and five of the top eight fillies, on the Experimental were sold at Keeneland auctions.

Keeneland September Sale Alumni Sweep Classic Preps

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 28, 2013) – Graduates of Keeneland’s 2011 September Yearling Sale won each of the weekend’s three classic preps. Itsmyluckyday, Shanghai Bobby and Clearly Now finished 1-2-3 in the Holy Bull (G3), each earning points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1). Keeneland sales alumni Kauai Katie and My Happy Face ran 1-2 in the Forward Gal (G2), while Fiftyshadesofhay took the Santa Ysabel (G3), both preps on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1).

 

Keeneland-Sold Champion Shanghai Bobby Makes Sophomore Debut in Holy Bull

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 25, 2013) – Recently named champion juvenile colt and Keeneland sales graduate Shanghai Bobby will make his three-year-old debut in the Holy Bull Stakes (G3) on Saturday at Gulfstream.

Keeneland Sales Grads Oxbow, Will Take Charge and Touch Magic Win Classic Preps

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 22, 2013) – Keeneland 2011 September Yearling Sale graduates won three of the weekend’s classic preps – Oxbow (Lecomte Stakes-G3), Will Take Charge (Smarty Jones Stakes) and Touch Magic (Silverbulletday Stakes) – to each earn points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1) or Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1). Keeneland sale alum More Chocolate won her dirt debut in the La Canada Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita.

Keeneland-Sold Champion Beholder Makes Season Debut in Santa Ynez

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 19, 2013) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate Beholder, recently named 2012 champion two-year-old filly, will make her sophomore debut in today’s Santa Ynez Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita. Keeneland sales alumni are also prominent in Oaklawn’s Smarty Jones Stakes, a prep on the Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1), including high weight King Henny and Brown Almighty, who makes his first start on dirt.

Keeneland Sale Graduates Dominate Entries for Lecomte, Silverbulletday

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 18, 2013) – Keeneland sales graduates dominate the fields for this weekend’s major races, comprising half or more of the entries for the Palos Verdes Stakes (G2) and La Canada Stakes (G2), as well as the featured three-year-old events, the Lecomte Stakes (G3) and Silverbulletday Stakes. 

Keeneland-Sold Mizdirection Repeats in Monrovia

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 7, 2012)Mizdirection, recently announced as a finalist for an Eclipse Award as champion female sprinter, bested fellow 2009 September Yearling Sale graduate Kindle by a half-length to successfully defend her title in the Monrovia Stakes (G2) on Sunday at Santa Anita.

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 4, 2013) – Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) winner and Keeneland sales graduate Mizdirection seeks to defend her title in Sunday’s Grade 2 Monrovia Stakes at Santa Anita. Also seeking a repeat win is Keeneland-sold Heavenly Landing in the Marshua’s River Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream on Saturday.

Keeneland-Sold Kauai Katie Opens 2013 with Impressive Win in Old Hat

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 2, 2013) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate Kauai Katie romped to an eight-length win Gulfstream’s Old Hat Stakes (G3) on New Year’s Day. Fellow September Sale alumni Cor Cor and Power Lady finished second and third, respectively. Keeneland sales grads Jimmy Creed, Private Zone and Unbridled’s Note also swept the top three spots in the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes on December 26 at Santa Anita.
