Keeneland September Sale Graduates Dominate Russia’s Richest Day of Racing

LEXINGTON, KY (June 13, 2014)Lucky First, a 4-year-old colt by Curlin purchased at the 2011 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, won Russia’s richest race, the President of the Russian Federation Stakes, in impressive fashion on June 11 at the Central Moscow Hippodrome.

Keeneland Sales Grads Palace Malice, Sweet Reason Capture Grade 1 Wins on Belmont Day

LEXINGTON, KY (June 9, 2014) – Keeneland sales alumni Palace Malice and Sweet Reason won the Metropolitan Handicap (G1) and TVG Acorn (G1), respectively, on Belmont Day. Palace Malice, purchased by owner Dogwood Stable at the 2012 April Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale and winner of the 2013 Belmont (G1), continued to show his class with an authoritative win in the Met Mile while carrying high weight of 124 pounds.

Keeneland Sales Alumni Shine on Belmont Weekend

LEXINGTON, KY (June 5, 2014) – The Keeneland sales are represented by 48 graduates competing in graded stakes on Belmont Weekend, headlined by four entries in the Belmont Stakes (G1): Medal Count, Matterhorn, Ride On Curlin and Wicked Strong.

Four Keeneland September Graduates Entered in Belmont

LEXINGTON, KY (June 5, 2014) – Four graduates of Keeneland’s 2012 September Yearling Sale are among the 3-year-olds entered in the 146th running of the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes (G1) Saturday at Belmont Park.

Eighteen Belmont winners are graduates of Keeneland sales, highlighted by recent winners Palace Malice (2013), Ruler On Ice (2011), Drosselmeyer (2010), Da’Tara (2008), Rags to Riches (2007) and Jazil (2006). 

 

Keeneland Sales Alum Frac Daddy Impressive in Eclipse Win

LEXINGTON, KY (June 2, 2014) – Keeneland sales graduate Frac Daddy dominated the Eclipse (G2) at Woodbine on Sunday, registering a five-length victory in near track-record time. At Woodbine on Saturday, Keeneland sales alumni Excaper, Something Extra and Laugh Track finished 1-2-3 in the Connaught Cup (G2).

Keeneland Sales Grads Something Extra, Scatman Defend Titles in Connaught Cup, Aristides

LEXINGTON, KY (May 30, 2014) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale alum Something Extra seeks his third consecutive Connaught Cup (G2) victory on Saturday at Woodbine. At Churchill Downs, Scatman, purchased by trainer Eddie Kenneally at the 2014 January Horses of All Ages Sale, defends his title in the Aristides (G3).

Keeneland-Sold Fire With Fire Headlines Holiday Weekend Stakes Winners

LEXINGTON, KY (May 27, 2014) – Keeneland sales graduates accounted for six graded stakes wins over Memorial Day weekend, led by Fire With Fire, who charged from behind to win Saturday’s Charles Whittingham (G2) at Santa Anita, and Canadian champion Solid Appeal, who successfully defended her title in Woodbine’s Nassau (G2). Keeneland September Yearling Sale alum Jack Milton won the Poker (G3) at Belmont on Memorial Day to make Todd Pletcher Thoroughbred racing’s all-time leading money-earning trainer.

Keeneland September Sale Graduates Stopchargingmaria, Revolutionary Record Hard-Fought Wins at Pimlico

LEXINGTON, KY (May 20, 2014) – Repole Stables’ Stopchargingmaria and WinStar Farm’s Revolutionary, both alumni of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale, closed from behind to capture the Black-Eyed Susan (G2) and Pimlico Special (G3), respectively, on Friday at Pimlico. Both horses are trained by Todd Pletcher.

Keeneland-Sold Palace Malice Dominates Westchester

LEXINGTON, KY (May 12, 2014) Palace Malice, purchased by owner Dogwood Stable at Keeneland’s 2012 April Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, romped to a 9¾-length win in the Westchester (G3).  Keeneland sale alumni Fiftyshadesofhay, Grace Hall and My Wandy’s Girl swept the top three spots in the Ruffian (G2). Both stakes were held Sunday at Belmont.

Keeneland Sales Graduates Win Graded Stakes Coast-to-Coast on Saturday

LEXINGTON, KY (May 5, 2014) – Keeneland sales alumni won graded stakes races across the U.S. on Saturday, winning at Churchill Downs (Central Banker in the Churchill Downs Stakes-G2 and Global View in the American Turf-G2); Belmont (Five Iron in the Fort Marcy-G3 and Waterway Run in the Beaugay-G3); and Santa Anita (Fury Kapcori in the Precisionist-G3).
