Keeneland Sales Graduates Dominate Entries for Withers, Robert B. Lewis

LEXINGTON, KY (Feb. 6, 2015) – Keeneland sales alumni take center stage in Saturday’s two preps for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1). Four of the seven 3-year-olds entered for Aqueduct’s Withers (G3) are Keeneland sales graduates, including the talented Classy Class, Far From Over, March and Unrivaled. Five of the six entries for Santa Anita’s Robert B. Lewis (G2) are alumni of Keeneland sales, led by undefeated Dortmund and Firing Line, who finished 1-2 in the Los Alamitos Futurity (G1). 


Keeneland September Sale Graduates Lord Nelson, Texas Red Sweep Top Spots in San Vicente

LEXINGTON, KY (Feb. 2, 2015) – Sophomore standouts Lord Nelson and Texas Red, both graduates of Keeneland’s 2013 September Yearling Sale, ran 1-2, separated by only a neck, in Sunday’s San Vicente (G2) at Santa Anita. Fellow 2013 September Sale alum and 2014 champion juvenile filly Take Charge Brandi earned points on the Road to the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) with her win in Saturday’s Martha Washington Stakes at Oaklawn.



Keeneland-Sold Breeders’ Cup Winner Texas Red Makes Sophomore Debut in Sunday’s San Vicente

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 30, 2015) – Texas Red, a graduate of Keeneland’s 2013 September Yearling Sale, makes his 3-year-old bow in Sunday’s San Vicente (G2) at Santa Anita. On Saturday at Santa Anita, six of the 10 3-year-old fillies entered in the Las Virgenes (G1) are Keeneland sales alumni, led by Grade 1 stakes-placed Maybellene and stakes winner Light the City, while Keeneland sale alum Secret Circle, winner of the 2013 Xpressbet Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1), makes his 2015 debut in the Palos Verdes (G2).


Keeneland Sales Graduates Texas Red, Take Charge Brandi and Lady Eli Lead Experimental Free Handicap

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 29, 2015) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduates Texas Red, champion Take Charge Brandi and Lady Eli, all of whom won races for 2-year-olds during the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, are high weights on The Jockey Club’s 2014 Experimental Free Handicap, announced today by The Jockey Club.

Keeneland November Sale Graduate Barbados Prevails in Hutcheson

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 26, 2015) – Favored Barbados turned in a gritty performance to win Saturday’s Hutcheson (G3) at Gulfstream, his second consecutive victory since being purchased by owner Paul Hanifl at Keeneland’s 2014 November Breeding Stock Sale. Also at Gulfstream on Saturday, Keeneland sales alum Birdatthewire earned points on the Road to the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) with her win in the Forward Gal (G2), while Consumer Credit captured the Sweetest Chant (G3).



Keeneland Sales Graduates Showcased in Derby, Oaks Preps

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 23, 2015) – Keeneland sales alumni take center stage this weekend, dominating entries for Saturday’s 3-year-old graded stakes. Five of the 10 entries for the Lambholm South Holy Bull (G2), a prep on the Road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1), are Keeneland sales graduates, including the promising Frammento and Mucho Macho Man Stakes winner Bluegrass Singer, who is cross-entered in the Hutcheson (G3). Also headlining the Hutcheson is fellow Keeneland sale alum and Spectacular Bid Stakes winner Barbados.

Keeneland September Sale Alum Sam’s Sister Rallies to Win Santa Monica

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 20, 2015) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate Sam’s Sister rallied in the stretch to win Monday’s Santa Monica (G2) at Santa Anita, her second consecutive graded stakes victory and her fifth win in six career starts. Keeneland sales alumni Far Right and I’m a Chatterbox earned points on the roads to the Kentucky Derby (G1) and Kentucky Oaks (G1) with wins in the Smarty Jones Stakes at Oaklawn and Silverbulletday Stakes at Fair Grounds, respectively.


Keeneland September Sale Grad Sam’s Sister Cross-Entered in La Canada, Santa Monica

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 16, 2015) – Keeneland sales alumni lead entries for this weekend’s graded stakes: Sam’s Sister, upset winner of the La Brea (G1) last month, is entered in both Saturday’s La Canada (G2) and Monday’s Santa Monica (G2), both at Santa Anita; dual stakes winner and co-high weight Four Leaf Chief is among seven sales graduates entered in the LeComte (G3) at Fair Grounds; and Grade 3 winners Villandry and Grand Contender contest the Colonel E. R. Bradley (G3), also at Fair Grounds.


Keeneland Sales Graduates Hoppertunity, Mshawish Post Grade 2 Stakes Wins

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 12, 2015) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale alum Hoppertunity was a decisive winner of the San Pasqual (G2) at Santa Anita on Saturday, while at Gulfstream, Keeneland-sold Mshawish prevailed by a neck in the Ft. Lauderdale (G2) to record his first U.S. graded stakes win.

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 9, 2015) – Grade 1 stakes winners Hoppertunity and Majestic Harbor, both graduates of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale, lead entries for Saturday’s San Pasqual (G2) at Santa Anita. Graded stakes-winning Keeneland sales alumni highlight other racing that day: Mshawish and Mucho Mas Macho go postward in the Fort Lauderdale (G2), while Valid and Prayer for Relief are entered in the Hal’s Hope (G3), both at Gulfstream.
