Keeneland Sales Alumni Cursory Glance, Hootenanny Victorious at Royal Ascot

LEXINGTON, KY (June 23, 2014) – Keeneland sales alumni accounted for two juvenile stakes at last week’s Royal Ascot meeting. Cursory Glance and fellow Keeneland sale graduate Sunset Glow ran 1-2 in Friday’s Albany Stakes (G3), while Hootenanny dominated a field of 23 in the Windsor Castle Stakes (L) earlier in the week. On Sunday, Keeneland sale graduates Grand Arch and Excaper finished 1-2 in the King Edward Stakes (G2) at Woodbine.


Keeneland-Sold Street Girl Favored in Bed o’ Roses

LEXINGTON, KY (June 20, 2014) – Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale graduate Street Girl, a stakes winner who finished second in the Humana Distaff (G1) at Churchill Downs last month, is the morning-line favorite for Saturday’s Bed o’ Roses Handicap (G3) at Belmont. Graded stakes-winning September Yearling Sale alumni River Seven and Excaper highlight entries for Sunday’s King Edward Stakes (G2) at Woodbine.



Keeneland Sales Alumni Sweep Top Spots in Weekend Graded Stakes

LEXINGTON, KY (June 17, 2014) – Keeneland sales graduates finished 1-2-3 in the Fleur de Lis Handicap (G2) at Churchill Downs, the Obeah Stakes (G3) at Delaware Park and the Pegasus Stakes (G3) at Monmouth this past weekend. Molly Morgan, a September Yearling Sale alum, led the way, pulling an easy upset over a talented field in Saturday’s Fleur de Lis.

Keeneland Sales Grads Palace Malice, Sweet Reason Capture Grade 1 Wins on Belmont Day

LEXINGTON, KY (June 9, 2014) – Keeneland sales alumni Palace Malice and Sweet Reason won the Metropolitan Handicap (G1) and TVG Acorn (G1), respectively, on Belmont Day. Palace Malice, purchased by owner Dogwood Stable at the 2012 April Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale and winner of the 2013 Belmont (G1), continued to show his class with an authoritative win in the Met Mile while carrying high weight of 124 pounds.

LEXINGTON, KY (June 5, 2014) – Four graduates of Keeneland’s 2012 September Yearling Sale are among the 3-year-olds entered in the 146th running of the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes (G1) Saturday at Belmont Park.

Eighteen Belmont winners are graduates of Keeneland sales, highlighted by recent winners Palace Malice (2013), Ruler On Ice (2011), Drosselmeyer (2010), Da’Tara (2008), Rags to Riches (2007) and Jazil (2006).

LEXINGTON, KY (June 2, 2014) – Keeneland sales graduate Frac Daddy dominated the Eclipse (G2) at Woodbine on Sunday, registering a five-length victory in near track-record time. At Woodbine on Saturday, Keeneland sales alumni Excaper, Something Extra and Laugh Track finished 1-2-3 in the Connaught Cup (G2).




Keeneland-Sold Fire With Fire Headlines Holiday Weekend Stakes Winners

LEXINGTON, KY (May 27, 2014) – Keeneland sales graduates accounted for six graded stakes wins over Memorial Day weekend, led by Fire With Fire, who charged from behind to win Saturday’s Charles Whittingham (G2) at Santa Anita, and Canadian champion Solid Appeal, who successfully defended her title in Woodbine’s Nassau (G2). Keeneland September Yearling Sale alum Jack Milton won the Poker (G3) at Belmont on Memorial Day to make Todd Pletcher Thoroughbred racing’s all-time leading money-earning trainer.
