Keeneland Sales Graduate Will Take Charge Leading Contender for Eclipse Award Following Clark Victory

LEXINGTON, KY (Dec. 2, 2013) – Will Take Charge, a graduate of Keeneland’s 2011 September Yearling Sale, likely secured an Eclipse Award as champion three-year-old colt with his gutsy win over fellow Keeneland sales alum Game on Dude in Friday’s Clark Handicap (G1) at Churchill Downs. Will Take Charge made 11 starts during his sophomore campaign, winning the Travers (G1), Pennsylvania Derby (G2), Rebel (G2) and Smarty Jones Stakes in addition to the Clark.

Keeneland Sales Alumni Dominate Clark Handicap (G1) Entries

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 26, 2013) – Seven of the nine horses entered for Friday’s Clark Handicap (G1) at Churchill Downs are Keeneland sales alumni, including Grade 1 stakes winners Will Take Charge, Golden Ticket and high weight Game On Dude, along with graded stakes winners Prayer for Relief and Easter Gift.

Keeneland Sales Alumni Featured in Delta Downs Juvenile Stakes

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 22, 2013) – Graduates of Keeneland’s 2012 September Yearling Sale are showcased in Saturday’s juvenile stakes at Delta Downs: recent stakes winners Coastline and Rise Up will carry top weight of 119 pounds in the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot (G3), while graded stakes winners Bahnah and Concave are entered in the $500,000 Delta Downs Princess (G3).

Keeneland Sale Alumni River Seven, Frac Daddy Run 1-2 in Commonwealth Turf

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 19, 2013) – River Seven edged a three-quarter-length win over fellow Keeneland sale graduate Frac Daddy in Saturday’s Commonwealth Turf (G3) at Churchill Downs.

Keeneland November Sale Alum Solid Appeal Highlights Saturday’s Cardinal

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 8, 2013) – Solid Appeal, purchased as a weanling by owners Jim and Susan Hill at Keeneland’s 2009 November Breeding Stock Sale and winner of the 2013 Nassau and Dance Smartly, both Grade 2 stakes at Woodbine, carries co-highweight in Saturday’s Cardinal (G3) at Churchill Downs.

Wise Dan, Groupie Doll, Beholder Among Keeneland-Connected Breeders’ Cup Winners

Congratulations to the Keeneland-connected Breeders’ Cup World Championship winners!  Keeneland sales graduates won five Breeders’ Cup Championships – Beholder (Distaff-G1), New Year’s Day (Juvenile-G1), Secret Circle (Sprint-G1), Mizdirection (Turf Sprint-G1), and London Bridge (Marathon-G2).  Two champions who successfully defended their titles, Wise Dan and Groupie Doll, prepped for the Breeders’ Cup with races at Keeneland this fall.

Keeneland Sales Graduates Showcased on Breeders’ Cup Saturday

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 1, 2013) – Thirty-seven Keeneland sales graduates will compete in Breeders’ Cup World Championship races on Saturday, headlined by Grade 1 stakes winners Game On Dude (morning-line favorite), Palace Malice, Will Take Charge and Paynter in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). Ten of the 13 horses going postward in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) are Keeneland sales graduates.

Keeneland Sales Alumni Prominent Among Breeders' Cup Entries

Multiple champion Royal Delta and 2013 Belmont (G1) winner Palace Malice are among the 60 Keeneland sales alumni who are entered for the 2013 Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 1-2 at Santa Anita. The event, which consists of 14 races worth a total of $27 million, drew a total of 172 pre-entered horses.

Keeneland Sale Alum Winning Cause Seeks Victory in the Hagyard Fayette

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 25, 2013) – Keeneland sales graduate Winning Cause, who captured the Coolmore Lexington (G3) last spring, highlights the entries for closing Saturday’s Hagyard Fayette (G2).  Among the other notable Keeneland sale alumni competing this weekend are Grade 3 winners Clearly Now in the Bold Ruler (G3) at Belmont on Saturday and Colonial Flag in the E. P. Taylor (G1) at Woodbine on Sunday.

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 22, 2013) – Highlighting the weekend’s stakes results were wins by Keeneland September Yearling Sales graduates Commander in the BC Premier’s Handicap (G3) at Hastings Racecourse and Matador in the Cup and Saucer Stakes at Woodbine.
