Keeneland Library Lecture Series Announces Spring Events

LEXINGTON, KY (Feb. 9, 2015) – The Keeneland Library Lecture Series returns in 2015 with a slate of events that spotlight notable horses and people in Thoroughbred racing.

Events will be held at the Keeneland Library unless otherwise noted and begin at 6:30 p.m. ET.

March 24 – Walter May, a Lexington-area actor and playwright, will perform a one-man show about legendary Turf writer Joe Palmer based on Palmer’s book, This Was Racing, published in 1953. A reception with May follows the performance.

Keeneland Library Lecture Series Announces Late September Events

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 15, 2014) – The Keeneland Library Lecture Series returns Sept. 23-24 with presentations of recent works about Thoroughbred racing.

On Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET, Paul Roberts will discuss Racecourse Architecture. The book, which Roberts wrote with Isabelle Taylor, is an exhaustive look at the history of the architecture at some of the world’s greatest race courses, including Keeneland.

Authors Toby, Wall and Nicholson to discuss new books

LEXINGTON, KY (March 27, 2014) – The Keeneland Library Lecture Series continues with presentations by renowned Turf historian Milt Toby on Tuesday, April 15, and by Eclipse Award-winning journalist Maryjean Wall and award-winning writer Jamie Nicholson on Wednesday, April 16, in the Keeneland Library.
