Market Remains Strong on Thursday With One Day Remaining of Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 13, 2014) – Songs and Sonnets, a winning daughter of Unbridled’s Song in foal to Alternation, sold for $115,000 to top Thursday’s session of Keeneland’s  November Breeding Stock Sale.

Cumulatively, 2,350 horses have sold for $204,830,100 during the first 10 days of the sale, a 3.9 percent increase from last year’s gross of $197,189,000 for 2,457 horses during the same period. The average of $87,162 is 8.6 percent above the $80,256 in 2013, while the median of $40,000 represents a 14.3 percent increase from $35,000 in 2013.

$85,000 Weanling Colt Leads Solid Wednesday Session of Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 12, 2014) – A weanling colt by Pioneerof the Nile sold to C. J. E. Stable for $85,000, the highest amount spent on a horse at Wednesday’s ninth session of Keeneland’s 71st November Breeding Stock Sale during a day of across-the-board increases.

Keeneland sold 242 horses for $4,165,200, marking a four percent increase from the corresponding session last year when 271 horses brought $3,998,100. The average of $17,212 was 16.7 percent above last year’s average $14,753, and the median of $12,000 was 14.3 percent higher than the $10,500 in 2013.

Keeneland November Exceeds 2013 Gross Sales on Eighth Day

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 11, 2014) – The strong market continued at Keeneland on Tuesday when gross receipts of $197,747,400 through eight sessions of the 11-day November Breeding Stock Sale surpassed total sales of $197,189,000 recorded for 2013’s entire 10-day auction.

Weanling Colts Lead Bullish Sixth Session of Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 9, 2014) – A weanling colt by Trappe Shot sold to Baccari Bloodstock for $200,000 and a weanling colt by Hard Spun purchased by McMahon & Hill Bloodstock LLC, agent, for $195,000 highlighted a day of brisk trading during Sunday’s sixth session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

$550,000 Unbridled’s Song Mare Leads Fourth Session of Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 7, 2014) – Sheikh’s Serenade, a winning mare by Unbridled’s Song out of 1995 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) winner Desert Stormer, was sold to Japan’s Shimokobe Farm/Heatherway Inc., agent, for $550,000 to become the highest-priced horse of Friday’s fourth session of the 71st Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
 

Unbridled’s Song Mare Brings $550,000 at Keeneland November

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 7, 2014) – Sheikh’s Serenade, a winning mare by Unbridled’s Song out of Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) winner Desert Stormer, was sold to Shimokobe Farm of Japan, with Heatherway Inc., agent, for $550,000 to become the highest-priced horse during Friday’s fourth session of Keeneland’s 71st November Breeding Stock Sale.

“Good pedigree," said Yukio Shimokobe. "She was moving well. A beautiful horse. We may bring her to Japan or stay here. We expect her to be a good mare.”

$850,000 Weanling Colt, $750,000 Weanling Filly Top Day 3 of Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 6, 2014) – Weanlings led Thursday’s third session of the 71st Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale as a War Front colt sold for $850,000 to Clear Ridge Stables and a Malibu Moon filly brought $750,000 from Solis/Litt. They contributed to total sales of 271 horses reaching $29,701,000 to mark a five percent increase from the corresponding session last year.

The day’s average of $109,598 held steady when compared with last year’s $110,465, and the median of $85,000 was 5.56 percent below last year’s $90,000.

Weanling Brings $850,000 on Day 3 of Keeneland November

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 6, 2014) – Weanlings led Thursday's third session of the 71st Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale as a War Front colt sold for $850,000 to Clear Ridge Stables and a Malibu Moon filly brought $750,000 from Solis/Litt.

Brian Graves signed the ticket for the weanling colt, a half-brother to stakes winner Street Life consigned by Nursery Place, agent. The colt is out of the winning Grindstone mare Stone Hope.

$3.9 Million Mare, North American Record $3 Million Weanling Spur Increases on Day 2 of Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 5, 2014) – The sale of 11 horses for $1 million or more – including the broodmare Aloof (IRE) for $3.9 million and a daughter of leading sire Tapit for a North American weanling record $3 million – drove increases in gross sales, average and median for Wednesday’s second session of the 71st Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
