Keeneland September Sale Graduate Site Read Favored for Saratoga’s With Anticipation

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 2, 2015) – Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale is represented by three of the six juveniles in the With Anticipation (G2) today at Saratoga, led by morning-line favorite Site Read, who won his career debut by 4½ lengths at The Spa on July 25.

Keeneland Sales Graduates Keen Ice, Private Zone, Runhappy Earn Grade 1 Wins at Saratoga

LEXINGTON, KY (Aug. 31, 2015) – Keeneland sales graduates continued their success at Saratoga, where alumni captured three Grade 1 stakes on Saturday:  Keen Ice turned in a gritty performance to win the Travers (G1); Private Zone earned an automatic berth in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) with a victory in the Priority One Jets Forego (G1); and Runhappy romped to a stakes record in the NYRA.com King’s Bishop (G1).

Keeneland September Sale Graduate Beholder Romps to Seventh Grade 1 Win in Del Mar’s Clement L. Hirsch

Keeneland sales alumni have won 9 of 11 graded stakes run to date at Saratoga

LEXINGTON, KY (Aug. 3, 2015) – Keeneland sales graduates dominated the weekend’s graded stakes, led by Spendthrift Farm’s two-time Eclipse Award winner Beholder, who  displayed her class with an easy seven-length win in the Clement L. Hirsch (G1) at Del Mar on Saturday. The victory marked the seventh career Grade 1 win for Beholder and increased her lifetime earnings to more than $3.6 million.

Keeneland Adjusts 2015 September Sale Opening Week Schedule

LEXINGTON, KY (July 6, 2015) – Keeneland sales officials today announced an adjustment to the opening week schedule for the 2015 September Yearling Sale, the world’s premier Thoroughbred auction, to be held Sept. 14-26.

Keeneland September Sale Graduate Undrafted Wins Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot

LEXINGTON, KY (June 22, 2015) – Keeneland September Yearling Sale alum Undrafted was impressive in capturing the Diamond Jubilee (G1) on Saturday’s closing day of Royal Ascot. Owned by Wes Welker and Sol Kumin and trained by Wesley Ward, Undrafted was purchased for $50,000 at the 2011 September Sale by Gatewood Bell’s Hat Creek Racing from breeder Runnymede Farm.

Market Stability Reigns As Keeneland September Sale Concludes

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 21, 2014) – The Keeneland September Yearling Sale, the world’s premier Thoroughbred auction, closed Sunday with results nearly equal to 2013, continuing a healthy trend toward market stability and confidence in the Thoroughbred industry.

Significant Gains Realized on Day 11 Of Keeneland September Yearling Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 19, 2014) – The largest across-the-board increases to date highlighted Day 11 of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

During Friday’s Book 5, gross sales of $6,626,500 for 289 horses rose 61.5 percent over last year’s $4,103,000 for 236 horses sold. The average increased 31.88 percent, from $17,386 to $22,929. The median price of $17,000 represented a 41.67 percent jump from $12,000 in 2013.

Keeneland September Sale Graduates Sweet Reason, Stopchargingmaria Headline Cotillion

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 19, 2014) – Six of the nine fillies entered in Saturday’s Cotillion (G1) at Parx Racing are graduates of Keeneland’s 2012 September Yearling Sale, led by multiple Grade 1 winners Sweet Reason and Stopchargingmaria. Also at Parx on Saturday, fellow 2012 September Sale alum Noble Moon, recent winner of the Jerome (G2), goes postward in the Pennsylvania Derby (G2).
