Keeneland Catalogs 4,181 Yearlings for 2014 September Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (July 31, 2014) – Keeneland officials announced today that 4,181 yearlings have been cataloged for the 70th annual Keeneland September Yearling Sale, to be held Sept. 8-21.

September Sale catalogs will be available online at Keeneland.com beginning Tuesday, Aug. 5. Print catalogs will be mailed the week of Aug. 18.

Keeneland September Sale Graduates Stopchargingmaria, Revolutionary Record Hard-Fought Wins at Pimlico

LEXINGTON, KY (May 20, 2014) – Repole Stables’ Stopchargingmaria and WinStar Farm’s Revolutionary, both alumni of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale, closed from behind to capture the Black-Eyed Susan (G2) and Pimlico Special (G3), respectively, on Friday at Pimlico. Both horses are trained by Todd Pletcher.

With the victory, the 3-year-old Malibu Moon filly earned 50 points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1).

War Front Colt Sells for $2.5 million to Top Fourth Day of Keeneland September Yearling Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 12, 2013) – Powered by the sale of 18 horses for $1 million or more, the first four days of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale – which comprise the premier Book 1 catalog – came to a close on Thursday with gross sales reaching $153,385,000 for 546 horses sold. Five seven-figure yearlings were sold on Thursday, topped by a War Front colt which sold for $2.5 million to become the highest-priced purchase of the sale to date.

War Front Colt Sells for $2.5 million to Top Thursday's Session

The market for the Keeneland September Yearling Sale continued to surge during Thursday’s session four of Book 1 with a War Front colt selling for $2.5 million to become the highest price of the sale to date.

Coolmore Stud’s M.V. Magnier won the bidding on Hip 712, a colt by leading sire War Front out of the stakes-placed Blading Gold Ring. Woods Edge Farm, agent, was the consignor for the yearling, the highest-priced yearling to sell at the September Sale since 2010.

$2.2 Million Filly Leads Five Million-Dollar Horses Sold Wednesday at Keeneland September Yearling Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 11, 2013) – The third session of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale saw the continuation of a bullish market headlined by the sale of five seven-figure yearlings, led by the $2.2 million paid for a half-sister to Grade 1 winner and millionaire Take Charge Indy and Will Take Charge, winner of the 2013 Travers (G1). 

Five Yearlings Bring Seven Figures During Early Going on Wednesday at Keeneland September Sale

Wednesday’s session of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale got off to a brisk start when a half-sister to Take Charge Indy and Will Take Charge sold for $2.2 million to become the highest price of the sale to date.

The filly, Hip 541, by Indian Charlie out of multiple Grade 1 winner Take Charge Lady, was purchased by Mandy Pope of Whisper Hill Farm. Hill ‘n Dale Sales Agency was the consignor, agent.
