Pletcher Bids for Record 51st Stakes Win in Today's Maker's 46 Mile

LEXINGTON, KY (April 14, 2017) – In today’s $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile (G1), WinStar Farm’s American Patriot will bid to give trainer Todd Pletcher his record 51st stakes victory at Keeneland. Pletcher, whose first stakes win here was the 1996 Valley View with Turkappeal, equaled the track record held by his former boss, D. Wayne Lukas, on Sunday when St. Elias Stable’s Sweet Loretta captured the Adena Springs Beaumont (G3).

Gaines Hopes Bolo Ends Roads Woes in Maker's 46 Mile

LEXINGTON, KY (April 13, 2017) – Bolo has been one of the most consistent turf runners the past two years in California, but when he has taken his act on the road the results have been less than favorable. That could change Friday in the $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile (G1).

Black Hopes for Better Luck with What a View in Maker's 46 Mile

LEXINGTON, KY (April 12, 2017) – When trainer Kenny Black brought the speedy What a View to Keeneland last fall for the Shadwell Turf Mile (G1), he thought the stars were aligned perfectly.

What a View was riding a four-race win streak. He drew what Black thought was a favorable post position (the 11) and figured to be the speed of the race. Instead, he never saw the lead and finished eighth under Kent Desormeaux, who had been aboard for all six of the California-bred gelding’s victories.

Heart to Heart Will Enhance Resumé with Maker's 46 Mile Win

LEXINGTON, KY (April 11, 2017) – He is a millionaire and an eight-time graded stakes winner, but there is one glaring omission from the resume of Heart to Heart, the 6-year-old horse owned by Terry Hamilton.

Among his 12 victories are seven Grade 3 victories and a Grade 2 score but no Grade 1 triumph.

He will try again Friday when he goes postward in the 29th running of the $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile (G1).
