Keeneland September Sale Alumni Burnish Classic Credentials

LEXINGTON, KY (April 10, 2016) – Alumni of Keeneland’s 2014 September Yearling Sale enhanced their standings among the top classic contenders with spectacular wins on Saturday. On the Road to the Kentucky Derby, Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1) winner Brody’s Cause posted a strong performance to win the $1 million Toyota Blue Grass (G1) at Keeneland, while Exaggerator romped to a 6¼-length victory in the $1 million Santa Anita Derby (G1).

Brody’s Cause Wins $1 Million Toyota Blue Grass

LEXINGTON, KY (April 9, 2016) – The Albaugh Family Stable’s Brody’s Cause surged to the front at midstretch and cruised to a 1¾-length victory over My Man Sam to win the 92nd running of the $1 million Toyota Blue Grass (G1) before a crowd of 20,848 on a sunny but cool Saturday afternoon at Keeneland.

On Tuesday morning, Keeneland will conduct the post position draws for Saturday’s $1 million Toyota Blue Grass (G1) and $500,000 Central Bank Ashland (G1) in a special event to be held in the Limestone Café in the Keeneland Sales Pavilion.

The Central Bank Ashland draw is scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m. and be followed by the Toyota Blue Grass draw.

American Dubai Works Five Furlongs for Toyota Blue Grass

Richard Keith’s American Dubai put in his final major work in preparation for next Saturday’s 92nd running of the $1 million Toyota Blue Grass (G1) by working five furlongs in 1:01.40 over a fast track after the Saturday morning renovation break.

With exercise rider Antioco Murgia up, American Dubai was timed in :36.40 for the first three furlongs by Keeneland clockers and galloped out six furlongs in 1:16.

American Dubai Hopes to Rebound from Rebel in Toyota Blue Grass

Richard Keith’s American Dubai began his Keeneland preparations for next Saturday’s $1 million Toyota Blue Grass (G1) with an easy gallop Friday morning under exercise rider Brian Murphy.

“We got here Wednesday night from Oaklawn and today was his first day at the track,” trainer Rodney Richards said. “He will probably work tomorrow morning and Chris Landeros will ride him in the Blue Grass.”
