2018 September Yearling Sale
September 10, 2018 - September 22, 2018
Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale is the global marketplace for Thoroughbred yearlings and is the world’s most important Thoroughbred sale. The September Sale stands apart from all other auctions owing to several factors: a critical mass of quality yearlings at all levels of the market; the largest and most diverse buying bench in the world and the proven success of its sales graduates at the highest levels of racing worldwide.
During the 12-day September Sale in 2017, Keeneland sold 2,555 horses for $307,845,400 for an average of $120,487.
At $2.7 million, the 2017 sale-topper was a Tapit filly out of the Grade 2-placed Beau Genius mare Pretty ‘n Smart, a full sister to Grade 1 winner Cupid, and a half-sister to Grade 3 winners Heart Ashley and Ashley’s Kitty and stakes winner Indianapolis. For seven consecutive years, Keeneland has sold the top-priced yearling at public auction in North America.
