LEXINGTON, KY (October 10, 2012) – Flaxman Holdings’ Absolute Crackers (IRE) rallied from far back to win the $47,600 featured Lane’s End Purse for fillies and mares by 2¼ lengths over Quinichette before a crowd of 8,001 on a brisk Wednesday afternoon at Keeneland.
Trained by Graham Motion and ridden by Joe Rocco Jr., Absolute Crackers covered 1 1/16 miles on a turf course labeled firm in 1:43.43. The victory was the first for Rocco at Keeneland.
The victory was worth $26,820 and increased Absolute Crackers’ earnings to $91,741 with a record of 8-2-3-0. Absolute Crackers is a 3-year-old daughter of Giant’s Causeway out of the Red Ransom mare El Laoob.
Absolute Crackers, who was making her U.S. debut, returned $22.40, $11.20 and $8.20. Quinichette, ridden by Rosie Napravnik, returned $6 and $5 with Stoptalkingmaria finishing third a half-length back under James Graham and paying $4.80 to show.
Racing resumes Thursday with a nine-race program beginning at 1:05 p.m. (ET). Highlighting the card is the 22nd running of the $150,000 JPMorgan Chase Jessamine (G3) for 2-year-old fillies going 1 1/16 miles on the turf.
