Race 1: BLUE RIDGE GIRL (4) runs with blinkers on and a sharp work to be ready second start at KEE plus he moves back to the dirt and shortens up in a soft field against maiden claimers. ALWAYS AND FOREVER (3) switched hands since her last start with steady works to be a contender if ready off the bench. TELLING METZIE (2) has been a longtime maiden, but exits a sharp effort and takes on a short field.
Race 2: FOURTH OF JULY (7) has won twice in the last six months and should be tough with a late run at the lowest level of his career. MEDIA TIME (2) should improve second time over the track and early speed. SIDEARM (1) makes a significant drop in class…for the win? Watch the odds board on this one.
Race 3: FLYAWAY KITTEN (7) ran third behind a runaway winner and sharp breezes with blinkers on for a better effort at second asking for top connections. DONA ALBA (8) hopes to break sharply and possibly save ground early for an improved performance second time over the KEE’s turf. BRISSON (5) has promising works to perform stronger this time around.
Race 4: DERBY DANCE (2) ran second in a dirt sprint and bullet work to move forward in today’s soft maiden claiming event. OKBYECYA (8) may continue to show improvement as he makes his third lifetime start for a capable barn. SLICK RED OIL (7) has plenty of works to be ready on debut for a 13% trainer with first time starters.
Race 5: THRILLED (3) has kept nice company at the stakes level and won stakes at the distance earlier this year. Filly appears to be well spotted today and tough just off the early pace. TAXABLE (6) exits a sharp effort off the long layoff and should set up well for the graded stakes place runner. DEAR ELAINE (2) should be part of the early pace scenario with a better effort second time over the track.
Race 6: UNTIMED PLAY (4) woke up on the turf first time with a good effort even though he has some trouble. Colt should improve today at fair odds with the favorite drawn to the way outside. GIANT PAYDAY (12) won last time out, but was disqualified to be extremely dangerous with this group as he goes for “two in a row”. CEDARVILLE (8) is well bred for the turf going long and needs to break well for the right trip to come together.
Race 7: PRETEND (7) drops in first time maiden tag with a decent effort. NO LACA TALENT (4) has good works from a sharp barn to be a top candidate at first asking. DOMINANT CLASS (3) moves down in class to be more of a threat after a faltering performance.
Race 8: SALAMA (1) runs well at the distance and loves KEE to be a threat with the right trip. WALKING THE KITTEN (7) looks like the one to beat off a win on this turf course and she dangerous with her versatile running style. CANDY CRUSH (3) exits a tough field in the Ladies Marathon, which the winner, AL’S GAL, came back to win a grade 1 at Woodbine plus she gets jockey Lanerie in the irons.
Race 9: The Grade 2 Hagyard Fayette Stakes
NOBLE BIRD (2) should be forwardly placed from the gate for another successful trip back to back races. PRAYER FOR RELIEF (6) makes his first start in several months against graded stakes company to suggest he’s ready and have solid dirt form with four wins at the distance. DIVINING ROD (8) goes for three in a row with some backclass and runs for a 23% barn with graded stakes races.
Race 10: EKHLAAS (2) has run well in some toughs spot this summer and poses as a big threat with his consistency from a top-notch stable. UNBRIDLED OUTLAW (9) should move forward second time over the track and second time off the layoff. TOWN CLASSIC (8) tries first time dirt with sharp efforts over softer footing in sprint races.
