Race 1: STRAIGHT TOWN (7) beat better on the grass last time. He returns off a brief freshening with a sharp workout on 3/31 and has two wins over the local surface. CANTONIC (1) has early speed, but seems to struggle at the distance at low odds. MOVING WEST (5) has good form over synthetic footing and won his last two of three starts.
Race 2: FOLLOW THE KITTEN (6) exits a sharp second place performance against tougher maidens and may like the longer distance. RADIANT (3) shortens up in distance with early speed for sharp connections. PETITE WARRIOR (7) gets another chance to show she can run for a capable barn with a capable rider retaining the mount.
Race 3: GET IN LINE (3) may be the lone speed in the group and exits a win on the grass. THATBOATHASSAILED (1) overcame a stumbled start to win at the distance over a similar surface last time out. He should lay closer from the rail this time. MAGICAL MOMENT (6) faltered in his latest performance when he was wide throughout the race and could not catch the top two finishers. He has excellent form over synthetic footing at this level.
Race 4: BIG N PERFECT (3) has two solid performances in two starts and gets first time Lasix. Colt should be in ground-saving mode from the gate for a good trip for a high percentage trainer and last year’s leading rider Joel Rosario aboard. WINGS OF FORTUNE (5) loves to finish second, but keep an eye on the odds for the right price to win. REI (8) needed the race last time and likely to move forward in today’s event at 5-1 odds.
Race 5: MISS ARRANGEMENT (1) hopes to make a turnaround off a poor effort when she chased the pace and ran out of gas down the stretch against tougher last time out. Filly returns to the track where she broke her maiden. APPRECIATING (6) has been training well for a big performance in his first start this year. Filly should be tough late in the game. HOT SQUEEZE (5) should be a major player from start.
Race 6: H TOWN BROWN (7) has never been worse than third in four starts and has a good shot to break his maiden for sharp connections. The 3yo seems to handle the grass well and should like the shorter distance. METRO DREAMER (3) did not perform well in the mud on a foggy day at Aqueduct. He should be much sharper over a fast track if he likes the surface. Colt wears blinkers first time. APPEALING ALEX (8) runs with blinkers off and exits a troubled trip.
Race 7: SISTERLY LOVE (6) should like the return to the softer footing for her second start of the year. Last time out she showed early speed and faded to hopefully improve in today’s event. She possesses speed and stamina to be a contender at an honest price. ABSOLUTE CRACKERS (7) is the one to beat, but has not run since last June. She has good turf form and barn does well with horses off the bench. PRIMED FOR PASSION (10) should be primed and ready for her first start in several months. Another barn that is very tough off the break and filly tries hard every time with her tactical speed.
Race 8: BELLA CASTANI (3) has two close finishes against similar competition at Gulfstream. Stakeswinner is due for her third win today and will be highly favored to make her a solid key horse. ELUSIVE FATE (2) has a chance to improve second start off the layoff with a sharp rider aboard. STREET GIRL (4) has kept some solid company as a 3yo and now makes her 4yo debut against lesser to make her dangerous if she can handle the sprint distance.
Race 9: G3 Transylvania Stakes – GLOBAL VIEW (9) has shown a lot of promise in his last three performances including a win against 3yos on the grass in the G3 Generous Stakes. Contender if he can handle the extra half-furlong today. STORMING INTI (10) won nearly wire to wire at the distance. He’s at the top of his game right now. CAN’THELPBELIEVING (12) can improve off his last start, but once again draws an outside post.
Race 10: AUNT RUBY’S KITTEN (5) ended up the beaten favorite with a rough trip last time out. He broke his maiden at the distance for a highly competitive stable to be a tough customer on or near the pace. SCHOOL ON A HILL (9) runs first time tag with a new rider today. Watch the odds board on this one. COLUMN (3) could be a nice exotics player with a step down in class and Fairground’s leading rider aboard.
