Katie Mikolay Gensler's first exposure to racing came at a young age, attending Arlington Park with her family on weekends when she grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She has been the racing analyst at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in New Orleans, Louisiana for the last three years. In addition to hosting the daily Churchill Downs Simulcast Network production of live Fair Grounds racing, Mikolay co-hosts the pre-race Fair Grounds Today show. She also contributes to FairGroundsRaceCourse.com as both a handicapper and blogger during the live Thoroughbred meeting and has made special appearances on HRTV and NBC Sports. During the summers, she performs similar duties at Presque Isle Downs in Erie, Pennsylvania for the 100-day race meet for the last five years. As an advocate for fan education, Katie has teamed up with America's Best Racing to teach wagering and produce racing 101 videos to increase horse racing awareness. She has been married to Thoroughbred horse trainer, Hank Gensler, for three years.

Race 1: UNRIVALED (6) drops in class and wears blinkers for a better chance to graduate today. SEVENTHFLEETHUMOR (5) is a well-bred colt that runs first time maiden tag for winning connections. LANIER (7) ran well at a flat mile in a short field. He should be part of the early pace scenario at a decent price.
Race 2: VOODOOVILLE (3) leads into the race in top form and moves up in class for a hot barn this meet. CONE OF LIGHT (5) has been very consistent and good form over the dirt. VISIONARY RULER (4) is sharp at the distance with early speed.
Race 3: NORTHERN LUCK (7) ran well over the dirt at Belterra Park and jockey Julian Leparoux retains the mount after he ran fifth with the 4yo last outing. FROM DAY ONE (6) exits a sharp second at 7 furlongs, but two turns may be difficult. RIDGE CITY (2) has won at the distance on the grass. He steps down in class and moves to the dirt.
Race 4: SAYLER’S CREEK (1) is a sold turf runner with tactical speed. He competes third start off the break and exits a just missed performance. BOLD RALLY (2) should be tough from off the pace on the grass. TOWN STAR (9) has solid form over a wet turf course for a competitive stable.
Race 5: ISLAND FEVER (4) should like the added distance at second asking. MAKIN SENSE (9) gets first time Lasix and training well. She needs to better break from the gate with rider Calvin Borel back in the irons. TIPPANY (3) exits a wide trip
Race 6: UNBRIDLEDEXPLOSION (7) has secondnitits against allowance company to make her tough at this level especially at the distance. ANOTHER INCIDENT (2) returns fresh with good works to be tough with tactical speed. HAUNTED HEROINE (1) needed the race last time and should move forward at the longer distance today.
Race 7: KITTEN’S QUEEN (9) won the distance two starts back and she at the top of her game as a well-bred 4yo. NOTTE D’ORO (7) was impressive in her latest effort to make her a contender at this level at good odds. MAGIC OF REALITY (8) has consistent works to be ready off the layoff for 23% layoff barn. She has good form over a wet turf.
Race 8: PANAMA WILL (5) drops in class after a faltering effort against MSW. He has two seconds in tougher maiden races. PULPIT’S LEGACY (8) exits tougher maiden races to be a player at this level with a sharp work over the track in the a.m. RAIDER POWER (7) returns off the bench with consistent works for a capable trainer.
