Katie Mikolay Gensler's first exposure to racing came at a young age, attending Arlington Park with her family on weekends when she grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She has been the racing analyst at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in New Orleans, Louisiana for the last three years. In addition to hosting the daily Churchill Downs Simulcast Network production of live Fair Grounds racing, Mikolay co-hosts the pre-race Fair Grounds Today show. She also contributes to FairGroundsRaceCourse.com as both a handicapper and blogger during the live Thoroughbred meeting and has made special appearances on HRTV and NBC Sports. During the summers, she performs similar duties at Presque Isle Downs in Erie, Pennsylvania for the 100-day race meet for the last five years. As an advocate for fan education, Katie has teamed up with America's Best Racing to teach wagering and produce racing 101 videos to increase horse racing awareness. She has been married to Thoroughbred horse trainer, Hank Gensler, for three years.

Race 1: BOSS HAWG (7) showed early speed first time out and should move forward with a drop in class. FLOWERS FOR LISA (1) should be tough with a similar move as top choice with a drop in class for top owners. AWESOME CITIZEN (4) has two sharp works to be more of a contender at this lower level.
Race 2: MAGIC FIVE (3) has decent efforts against slightly tougher to be a main contender today. HORSETAILSPEEDSTER (5) has early speed to be good enough to hit the board. RIPPIN RANGER (4) training well for his second start for the new barn and jockey Mike Smith picks up the mount.
Race 3: BAD STUDENT (3) leads into the race in top form as he runs first off the claim for 23% stable. WAYWARD SAILOR (2) makes his second start off the layoff for a better effort with a 7 lb. bug rider aboard. DAKOTA FRED (4) possesses early speed with a decent work from the gate.
Race 4: ASCEND (7) exits his best performance to be a major player on the turf once again. FARZ (11) ran second behind stakeswinner, WORLD APPROVAL, two starts back and needed the race last time. NILEATOR (1) should be forwardly placed from the rail as he returns to his preferred footing.
Race 5: KLISZ (4) has good form on the dirt as he returns to the dirt after a victory last time out. MAL GUAPO (1) hopefully will be ready off a long break for a barn that wins at 16% off the layoff. He has early speed from the rail to be a threat today. DESVELO (6) gets a rider switch and drops in class to be dangerous.
Race 6: MAGICAL MOMENT (9) leads into the race off a sharp effort and a good workout. He should be a player just off the pace. OLTRE’ ORO (6) runs first off the claim barn winning at 27% with a nice win at Saratoga last time out. FRUIT LUDT (8) wears blinkers as he cuts back in distance to show more speed for a sharp barn,
Race 7: CONQUEST TIZ ONE (4) ran well at first asking and barn has been hot with two year olds. LADY GAYLE (5) may like the turn back in distance third time out for a capable trainer. MALIBU STACY (6) has plenty of works to be ready on debut for 16% barn with first time starters.
Race 8: The G3 Bourbon Stakes – UNBRIDLED DADDY (5) ran third with a wide trip in a graded turf stakes last time out. CAMELOT KITTEN (9) won over a soft turf course fist time out. Jockey Ortiz retains the mount, not riding top choice. SALLISAW (2) is well bred for the distance on the grass for a competitive turf outfit and a top rider in the irons.
Race 9: The G1 Spinster Stakes – UNTAPABLE (3) should be a major player with plenty of class and she can handle the distance hoping for a change of tactics from the last two starts. GOT LUCKY (4) beat top pick last time and seems to be getting better as she moves up in class. FRIVOLOUS (9) exits an impressive victory last outing.
Race 10: GENERAL’S JEWEL (2) ran well her on debut and will be a contender in this wide-open race with a classy pedigree. MISS BLOSSOM (9) showed early speed then quit first time out. She should give us a stronger performance at this lower maiden level. GADWELL (1) raced evenly first time out and working well since then to be ready from a sharp sprinter barn.
