Race 1:  KISS ME PERFECT (1) could benefit from a longer distance and gets a rider switch to one of the top riders in the nation.  TORDITA (4) ran well in the slop last time out and runs first off the claim for the Maker stable (23%).  SHAKESPERIAN DREAM (3) has made consecutive drops and needs to fire late.

    Picks 1-4-3

Race 2:  ESTUARY (5) should move forward taking on easier company for her third start this year.  SHE’S COAL FIRED (6) raced evenly in her latest performance and should improve second start off the layoff.  SOMETHING BLUE (7) leads into the race off a good effort at a longer distance showing early speed at a longer distance.  Filly has dangerous outside speed.

    Picks 5-6-7

Race 3:  STATE FLAG (6) gets some class relief for a better chance to return to the winner’s circle with a sharp rider retaining the mount.  The 5yo has one win and one third at the distance.  CHAIRMAN GAREY (2) did not perform well in a paceless race last time out.  He has been a sharp closer on the grass in previous efforts including a victory against $50k claimers.  MALIBU WAY (4) won his last two starts on the grass and competes first off the claim for a capable trainer, but moves up in class.

    Picks 6-2-4

Race 4:  NAPA VALLEY (8) will run for a tag in his first start of the year for McPeek’s barn (18%).  His recent works over the synthetic footing make him a promising prospect at this lower level.  SPA CITY TREASURE (9) has been a sharp sprinter that needs a sharp break as he stretches out to two turns for the first time.  FOUR MORE (3) ran second on the grass against tougher maidens, but a troubled trip last time and now he’s competing first time tag.

    Picks 8-9-3

Race 5:  PURELY HOT (2) has performed against some of the best ladies in racing, GROUPIE DOLL and JUDY THE BEAUTY.  She returns of a four-month layoff in a starter allowance to prove she’s back.  She will be forwardly placed from the gate with Leparoux aboard.  GETTEM GIRL (5) has won her last three starts and the race sets up well for the closer.  QUITE EXPLOSIVE (3) runs her best effort off a brief layoff and should be a contender for the exotics.

    Picks 2-5-3

Race 6:  JESSICA’S STAR (2) is well bred for grass to hopefully get a chance to raced over the soft footing after an impressive maiden win in an off the turf event.  GENERAL JACK (3) hasn’t performed well in his last two starts against stakes company.  The 3yo colt has been training well to be a threat with a sharp start.  HEART TO HEART (1) has good form over the Polytrack, but will try the turf first time off the layoff.  Sharp workouts on the grass in Florida.

    Picks 2-3-1

Race 7:  MIO D’ORO (3) has been very consistent competing at the maiden level and leads into the race in top form.   FIGHT THE TIDE (4) exits a decent effort in the slop and broke his maiden at the distance.  SKY CAPTAIN (2) has been off for over a year, but has good works in the last sixty days for a sharp layoff trainer (15%).

    4-3-2

Race 8:  OVERTONE (4) finished second going long on the grass with a tough post position.  Filly should be a major player with a better draw and hot rider aboard.  EASTON ARCH (5) was purchased for $250k and just missed for second in her latest for a high percentage trainer.  CLOSER TO YOU (7) never menaced in her debut performance at 5-1 odds.  A brief freshening with a new rider aboard and could see am improved effort second time out.

    Picks 4-5-7
