Race 1: CONTROL STAKE (1) has early speed from the rail with good works to be ready off the layoff for 24% trainer, but will have to hold off second choice from the outside. LOUD CAT (7) could be dangerous with outside early speed if ready off the bench from a low percentage barn. CHAPTER AND VERSE (3) won last time out and moves up in class for a winning barn.
Race 2: SCARLETRIDGERUNNER (7) faces soft claiming company for her third start off the claim and the one to beat with early speed on the outside. PURE LEGACY (6) goes for two wins in a row first start with new barn and stalking from the outside.
MS HOOCHIE COOCHIE (5) returns off a long layoff with a drop in class with slow works to make sure the price is right.
Race 3: DAD WE ARE HERE (4) has good form on the dirt earlier this year and drops in class after beat four lengths. He has early speed, but won’t need the lead to prevail against this group. POSTURE (6) runs first off the claim for a high percentage trainer (31%) and main danger for top choice just off the pace. WINKATDAWAT (1) has early speed on the rail, but barn has been quiet this meet and veteran runner hasn’t had much luck here 3-0-0-0.
Race 4: MARKET MAKER (5) improved last time out and may continue to move forward second time route. SMARTY KITTEN (1) exits a key race, which several that came back to win their next race, and now he hopes he will stand out for a high percentage barn. FETED (6) purchased for $110k and hopes to make a splash at a longer distance. Barn sprint to route wins at 19%.
Race 5: UNION JACKSON (2) ran well first time out and should be a major contender to move forward and cross the wire first for Stonestreet Stables. BLAZE’N PORSPECTOR (6) returns as a 3yo to run better, more mature with fast works and blinkers on first time. WALKER’S WAY (8) exits a tougher field and moves to the dirt for a trainer that wins at 30% turf to dirt. He runs with blinkers off and jockey Rosario in the irons.
Race 6: CONQUEST PANTHERA (5) exits a troubled trip and should move forward with a race off the layoff. BOURBON SOUL (9) has displayed good form on the grass, but returns off a layoff (15%) and first time gelding. SILVER DAGGER (2) broke his maiden at the distance and exits a late running fourth on the grass to consider at long odds.
Race 7: STAGEPLAY (4) has a good series works including a fast drill (WR) over the local surface to be ready first time out for a 15% barn. The dam, STAGE STOP, has produced several winners to perform well as juveniles and a stakeswinning sibling. HOLDERS SEASON (5) was the beaten favorite in the mud first time out. She is one to watch over a fast track. BANNER WAVING (6) improved vastly in speed figures second time out, but hung in the final strides. Hopefully she is ready to fire late at third asking.
Race 8: ANOTHER INCIDENT (3) is proven at the distance while running well fresh with jockey Rosario aboard. LAVENDER CHRISSIE (4) should improve second start off the layoff, but new distance to tackle. SALAMA (6) has been a consistent long distance runner that makes her first start in the US with good works and first time Lasix.
Race 9: The Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup - SENTIERO ITALIA (9) will be tough to beat with an undefeated record at the distance and excellent turf form. FEATHERED (8) loves the grass and she has a versatile running style for the dangerous winning Pletcher connections. BLOND ME (7) ran second going 9f behind top choice in her first start in the US. Good work over the turf in the morning (WR).
Race 10: SELF STARTER (4) ran a close second in a key race last time out and jockey Leparoux retains the mount. WHITE GLADIATOR (5) should be a top contender at this level if he likes the dirt for hot barn especially with maidens. KINGS KNIGHT (1A) makes his third start off the break for his best effort with hot rider Landeros aboard with his late running ability.
