Race 1: ENTERTAINER (11) exits a key race with a fast bullet work over the track. TUSK (10) raced well first two starts going long on the grass. He wears blinkers for his move to the main track. SOLVE (7) made a late move against maiden allowance foes and should like the added distance.
Race 2: TIZ SEXY NOW (4) is training sharply for a better effort with a drop in class for a capable trainer. COOL COMFORT (5) makes her third start off the layoff running for a lower tag and gets a rider switch to make her dangerous from the Wes Ward barn. HOLD ME FAST (2) runs first off the claim at 15% for a sharp sprinter barn and bred well for this distance.
Race 3: BLUEGRASS BEAT (2) has early speed in a race lacking early pace and runs for a tag first time. TOP OF THE PAGE (3) runs with blinkers off and has a decent workout in the morning since his last start against allowance company. DERBY DAY KITTEN (4) exits his best performance as he moves up in class competing against winners first time.
Race 4: MEETING WATERS (10) ran second the last two starts against stakes company as she cuts back in distance. Filly ran well at shorter distances last year across the pond. ALJALELA (9) has never loss on the turf for the competitive Pletcher stable, but lightly raced 3yo returns off a layoff facing older horses first time. AQUAFRIA (6) is a 5yo mare that could fire late, but may prefer a longer distance on the grass.
Race 5: POLITICAL JUSTICE (5) has good works leading to a sharp effort first off the claim for the Calhoun stable (19%). The 6yo likes this track and should be a player lying close to the pace. BIG LEGACY (7) is the one to beat exiting a big win over synthetic footing and he may regress with a return to the dirt, but very dangerous at short odds. SLAN ABHAILE (6) drops in class as he runs first off the claim for the Maker barn (21%).
Race 6: BANREE (8) could break sharply this time with a new rider in the irons with a drop in class. MIDNIGHT ON OCONEE (1) won by five lengths first time out and should move forward in her second lifetime start. NYX WARRIOR (7) training sharply for another outstanding performance.
Race 7: The Grade III Jessamine Stakes – HARMONIZE (4) ran well in her first two starts with front running speed going long on the grass including a stakes victory. CLARE VIEW (5) has been impressive on the turf and should be able to handle the longer distance. FAMILY TREE (11) has the pedigree to handle the distance as she tries two turns plus a nice work over the local turf course (WR).
Race 8: CITE (5) has a good series of works including a bullet 3f work to be ready on debut for Claiborne Farms. He’s bred well for this longer distance with 2 stakeswinning siblings. IRISH COLONEL (9) is training well over the dirt to be a contender as he switches surfaces and possesses early speed. STAND GUARD (8) made a late move turning for home going short and should handle the two turns.
