Race 1: KOWBOY BOOTS (5) did well against stakes company the last two outings and should run well third start off the break for tough connections. WALLYANA (8) was an impressive maiden winner at Gulfstream last time out and now competes first off the claim for trainer Michael Pino (32%). WINGATE HALL (2) will get a class test in this spot, but he has been training well and should be in a good position stalking early.
Race 2: ULTIMATE SHOPPER (4) exits a troubled trip from last November so a layoff and solid works to be ready this time out. GOOD SO FAR (5) is another one coming off the bench, but filly can perform sharp at the distance for top notch connections. ANNA PAVLOVA (1) performs better in sprints and has intriguing works over the local track.
Race 3: MENDOTA (7) broke his maiden here last fall and will be tough at good odds if ready off the break. He has solid works to be a contender today. GREEN MASK (6) won at the distance in a fast time over the poly. He has competed in two stakes since then and should be dangerous at this level. TWANG (1) tries the poly first time, but seems to be training well over it.
Race 4: VENTOUX (10) was the beaten favorite last time out at Tampa. She needs a sharp break for a solid performance this time around. STELLARIS (2) was one pace the entire race on debut, and will need to show more her second time out. TWENTY IN ONE (7) gets another chance to prove she’s a runner. She gets away from the rail and gets a fast track over the synthetic footing this time.
Race 5: RARE (1) ran second from off the pace here last year. He also ran second on the lead going long in his latest. He returns fresh and may enjoy the 7 furlongs to graduate today. INDIAN GUIDE (4) has two decent performances and may have showed more if jockey did not lose the irons aboard him last time. Barn does well with maidens. ONE MORE NIGHT (10) runs with blinkers on with a bullet work on the dirt. Hopefully he will like the return to the poly at a price. Connections won a maiden race at huge odds on Wednesday.
Race 6: STROLL TO VICTORY (6) has good form over the turf and ran second behind Blue grass contender, BOBBY’S KITTEN, last August. Colt needs a solid trip today. XAVERIAN (11) needs both a clean getaway and trip to be a serious threat. Colt makes his second start over the track this season. STRONG STIPULATION (1) may prefer a longer distance, but good price play in the gimmicks for a hot barn.
Race 7: The G3 Commonwealth Stakes – LAUGH TRACK (1) is the class of the race and has one win at the distance over the poly. He ran second behind SUM OF THE PARTS here last October and has faced some top notch competition. OCCASIONAL VIEW (9) returns fresh and has versatility. UNDRAFTED (5) makes his second start facing older horses and has early speed with good form over the synthetic footing to take him a long way at 8-1 odds.
Race 8: The G3 Shakertown Stakes - GANTRY (13) will have to overcome the outermost post to get the lead or he can come from off the pace. He ran second in the Commonwealth Stakes last year. HAVELOCK (6) won this race last year and won the Woodford Stakes during the fall. He loves the turf course here and should be very dangerous. GO BLUE OR GO HOME (8) is a speedster that raced third in the Phoenix after he missed the break.
Race 9: The G1 Madison Stakes – JUDY THE BEAUTY (4) is a multiple graded stakes winner that hasn’t lost a step and she’s undefeated here. She’s will be tough at short odds with her ability to rate just off the pace. HEIR KITTY (3) should love the distance and seems to win on any surface. BYRAMA (7) may want to go longer with her late running style. Good price in the mix.
Race 10: The G1 Jenny Wily – CENTRE COURT (10) will be defending her title today. She leads into the race off a win and loves this turf course with a record 3-1-2-0. STEPHANIE’S KITTEN (2) has been lightly raced in the past year. She performs well off the bench and will be the biggest threat to top choice. KITTEN’S POINT (1) is the newcomer with only eight starts, but has been holding her own and should like the longer distance.
Race 11: The G1 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes – GALA AWARD (14) won at the distance last time out. He has a tough draw, but with a sharp rider aboard and his ability to run off the pace, he should be dangerous from the Pletcher stable. BOBBY’S KITTEN (5) has been impressive on the grass, but pedigree suggests he will like the Polytrack. The colt can come from off the pace to go the distance. MEDAL COUNT (13) just won Transylvania Stakes here two weeks ago and barn feels he ready for another solid performance today.
Race 12: BRAVODINO (5) usually runs well fresh and has good form over the grass across the pond. His first start in the U.S. hopefully will be a winning one for hot connections. MILLS (7) exits a sharp performance over the grass at GP and has tactical speed. PERFECT TIMBER (6) ran second behind FORTE DE MARMI in the G1 Northen Dancer Stakes at Woodbine. He’s training well for a big comeback.
