Race 1: SCENIC ROUTE (5) gets some class relief for his second maiden voyage. He broke slowly and rushed up to stalk the early pace only to beat one in the end. He should show more at this level for Winstar Farms, but make sure the price is right. RED AND WHITE (1) returns off the bench for his second start with blinkers off and first time gelding. SACKETT (6) cuts back in distance with a race over the track.
Race 2: DEEP EXPLORER (1A) runs for a top-notch 2yo stable that should have this first time starter ready to fire at any maiden level. KRAFTY BOY (6) has plenty of works to be ready at first asking. LEROI’S THRILL (9) has the experience and possesses early speed with a big drop in class.
Race 3: IRISH YOU WELL (5) should bounce back in this spot today. He has the best record at the distance and appears to be enough early pace to set up well for the 4yo. GO GO ROCKET (1) should be forwardly placed from the gate with the best of early speed for his second start off the long layoff. GORGEOUS BIRD (4) exits a winning performance in the slop, but will need to show more over a fast track to snatch his first victory at the distance.
Race 4: TIZ MADNESS (5) seems to close well going short and should handle the stretch out today with a sharp turf rider aboard. ETSU (1) improved when she ran on the turf and could continue to move forward over the softer footing especially going 9 furlongs. SWEET ELLA (4) is well bred for the grass for a sharp 2yo barn (24%).
Race 5: BEMATA (3) runs first off the claim for a high percentage barn (18%). The 5yo should have plenty of early pace to chase for a stronger effort second start off the layoff. LEADEM IN KEN (2) runs for a tag off the long break. He has good works, but watch the odds board on this stakeswinner for the right price. SHANGHAI RED (8) runs hard everytime with hopes to perform sharply for his first start off the claim with decent drills on dirt since his last start over the Polytrack.
Race 6: SOUND OF FREEDOM (8) needed his last race plus he ran in the slop. He should perform better with a fast track and hopes for contested pace to stalk from the outside. NOLANS DREAM (3) ran second with a wide trip on the dirt for the same tag. He makes his third start off the layoff for a 22% barn at long odds. OR SUNDAY (5) just missed last time out with a recent fast workout over the track.
Race 7: TIZ SO SWEET (4) has been tough to catch with her front running speed. She has won at the distance and training well for her first start in two months for the Mott stable (20%). ZEVEN (5) may get the perfect set up sitting just off the pace with a possible contested pace at 4-1 odds. KETEL TWISY (7) should improve off her last effort, but will it be good enough? Glad to see KEE’s top rider retains the mount at 10-1 odds.
Race 8: DATING LADY LUCK (5) needs a clean trip for a jump forward today. She has the experience and several close efforts against similar competition. MY SENSES (2) is well bred to enjoy the stretch out on the turf after she broke her maiden for the “hot” turf outfit on the grounds. WEREWOLF (1) has been training well (WR) for a leap forward in her second start off the break in her latest.
Race 9: COPUS (1) ran second behind a comeback winner to be a solid threat from a high percentage trainer in a soft field. BARRISTER JIM (9) makes a big drop in class to be vulnerable at low odds, but may run gate to wire. STONECRUSHER (3) made a late rally to finish third best against claiming company.
