    Friday, April 12th, 2015

Race 1:  ONE MORE NIGHT (3) won his last two starts going short for high percentage barn.  He should be tough from off the pace in a race with plenty of early speed.  SAINT OF SAINTS (5) takes on slightly easier company and has bullet work on April 4th.  CHAIRMAN GAREY (6) has been running in good form over dirt tracks elsewhere, and picks up rider Javier Castellano.

    Picks 3-5-6

Race 2:  NUN THE LESS (3) should be a major player on either surface (turf or dirt) today.  He won at the distance here last October and training well for another outstanding performance.  INSTANT REPLAY (2) raced evenly in his recent start and should move forward if he likes the softer footing.  WATCHYOUROWNBOBBER (5) exits a poor effort in a grade 3 Spiral.  He’s very dangerous with early speed.

    Picks 3-2-5

Race 3:  TOUGH BUSINESS (2) should be tracking the early runners for a winning trip taking on lesser competition second start with new stable.  INFINITY OF HUMOR (7) should be forwardly placed from the gate, which she should like going short on the dirt.  MS. HOOCHIE COOCHIE (3) drops in class and moves back to the dirt.

    Picks 2-7-3

Race 4:  FRACULA (1) has run well at the distance at this level and should be a major player with early speed breaking from the rail.  COSMO BLUE (3) runs first maiden tag to be threat from the Pletcher stable, but no workouts since his last start at low odds.  STAR OF SKY (4) hopes for a fast track to show more second time going two turns for top connections.

    Picks 1-3-4

Race 5:  The Grade 3 Appalachian Stakes

LADY ELI (6) leads into the race undefeated as she makes her first start of the year, but training well (WR) with tactical speed from the Chad Brown barn (26%).  SUNSET GLOW (4) ran second behind top choice and should be tough if ready off long break.  She will run with blinkers off.  TIGER RIDE (1) has been a strong closer in all four starts plus training well.

    Picks 6-4-1

Race 6:  MONEY CHANGER (8) has several sharp efforts in competitive maiden allowance races and runs for the Pletcher barn.  He should make a big step forward today.  LEMON DROP TITLE (4) should be serious threat at second asking.  BENT ON BOURBON (7) draws a better post for a better trip and nice work over the track.

    Picks 8-4-7

Race 7:  ONUS (9) has two consistent sprint races and the son of BLAME should handle the stretch out over the grass, which he has several good works over the softer footing.  MISTAKEN LOVE (3) improved when moved to the grass and should be one of the horses to watch third time out.  BELLE ELTE (4) is well bred for the turf to consider a solid longshot from a sharp stable with second time starters (19%).

    Picks 9-3-4

Race 8:  The Grade 2 Beaumont Stakes

SWEET SUCCESS (3) should like the return back to the dirt at a shorter distance.  Filly should be tough sitting just off a quick early pace.  FANTASTIC STYLE (2) hopes to lead from gate to wire, but longer distance in new surroundings will be interesting.  DIVINE DAWN (1) training well for a big effort.  Her last three races have been tough spots and barn does well with the fillies to have her ready.

    Picks 3-2-1

Race 9:  COSTENIA (9) exits a wide trip with a rough break to be better this time around.  Filly has been sharp late on the grass to be tough today.  VV GOODNIGHT (2), the class of the race, should be a strong stretch threat if ready off the long break.  CHAT (3) beat ENCHATING LISA two starts back and exits a wide trip last time.  Mare should be nice odds if ready off the bench.

    Picks 9-2-3
