Kim Nelson has grown up with horses in Kentucky. She began her career with Thoroughbreds at North Ridge Farm in Lexington, KY where she worked with foaling mares and yearlings. She moved on from there to work for Carl Nafzger as an assistant trainer and exercise rider. After the birth of her daughter she changed careers to handicapping for the Daily Racing Form. Once the Daily Racing Form closed its handicapping department in Lexington, Kim was very fortunate to land a position with Marylou Whitney Stables. She is now the assistant racing and breeding manager for Mrs. Whitney.
Race 1
#7 Traders Point closed to finish a good 4th in her last start. She finds a soft spot here for her 2nd start with new connections. #4 Chroi Le Teaglaigh is a firster for the McKeever barn. She has a solid worktab over the Keeneland course. She was a pricey yearling and expect her to be full of run at first asking. #1 Coralita didn’t show much in her debut but drops in class and barn has a strong percentage with Mdn 2nd start. #5 Miss CC has 2 races under her belt and could land a share here.

#7 Tapanna is dropping in class from recent form and Beyer numbers suggests she can handle these. #2 Live in Joy has hit the board in her last 2 starts. Strong connections and should get part. #3 Quietdetermination is making her 2nd start since the claim by the Asmussen barn. Consistent sort should land a share.

#4 Grand Arch is coming off a winter break but connections are strong off the bench. Gelding has yet to miss a check in 5 starts and like him here. #12 Paroled has a race over the track finishing 2nd with a solid field of allowance horses. He should be tough again here. #11 Big Lucky just missed in his last out. That was his first off the layoff and should be sharp in this one. #6 Barrymore just broke his maiden here the first week of the meet outrunning his odds. He is at another good price here and would keep him in exotics.

Race 5
#3 Summer Breezing is making her 3rd off the layoff. She won by 10 here last spring. #2 Hamiltonian has been keeping very good company and has strong Beyer numbers. Sharp work over the track and could get the steal. #8 Ghost Is Clear comes over for the Maker barn with Rosario in the irons. He has big Beyer numbers and is a definite threat. #1 Joes Blazing Aaron draws the 1 post which isn’t the best spot to be sprinting but he has some past form that suggests he has a real shot with these.
