Katie Mikolay Gensler's first exposure to racing came at a young age, attending Arlington Park with her family on weekends where she grew up in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She has been a racing analyst for the last nine years and has worked at multiple racetracks across the country. She also has made special appearances on TVG Network, Fox Sports and NBC Sports. Katie has been a Paddock analyst for Keeneland since the 2013 Spring Meet. She’s also a weekly video blogger on KeenelandSelect.com. As an advocate for fan education, Katie has teamed up with Horse Player Now to teach Horse Racing 101 and wagering to increase horse racing awareness.

Race 1: WAR POINT (2) returns fresh after a victory and appears to be the one to beat with a slight drop in class. TAPANNA (3) needs a clean getaway for better trip second time over the track. NORTHERN EMPIRE (6) has good form on the dirt with a capable rider aboard.
Race 2: SPELLKER (1) just missed on debut and should more forward today for the hot barn 2yo barn. DANGEROUS DAN (7) gets a top rider aboard for his second career start and the stablemate of top choice, but not sure he’s quick enough. MR D’s WAY (4) hopefully a stronger effort for his second trip over the track.
Race 3: DONITA’S RULER (5) is the speed of the speed with a top rider aboard and some backclass. MISS COBBLESTONE (1) moves up in class first off the claim. Filly runs well fresh and possesses tactical speed. CLEO’S KREWE (2) raced third the last two starts and makes third start off the break.
Race 4: PRICES TOO HIGH (4) has quick works and barn sends out multiple winners at this level. CAPT. GRIDER (5) has back-to-back bullet works to be worth some value at second glance. JERSEY STREET (7) runs for a capable barn with moderate works to pick up the pieces at the end.
Race 5: FRANCESCA DI FORTI (1) just missed for place last time and should improve with added distance second time over the track. TEMPLE TANTRUM (7) showed early speed last time out with an improved effort and switches to the dirt. SOUL SAVIOR (9) flashed early speed and cuts back in distance.
Race 6: KITZY’S ROCKET (7) should be a major player with several sharp efforts on the turf while she returns fresh with a bullet work and jockey Castellano aboard. HEATH (3) has proved to be a very talented filly as she makes her first start as a 4yo with consistent works for high percentage outfit with horses off the layoff (16%). LA MAJESTIQUE (10) may bounce back with a good enough performance to hit the board at 20-1 odds.
Race 7: GRANDE BASIN (4) should get plenty of early pace for another solid performance turning for home as he goes for 4 straight wins. NO HIDING PLACE (6) appears to be the speed of the speed with a race over the track. WAKE UP JOE (3) has plenty of sharp works on the dirt to be more of a threat over KEE’s dirt this time.
Race 8: GONE AWAY (8) broke her maiden at the distance and ran third behind Canadian Horse of the Year CATCH A GLIMPSE last time out. She returns fresh with a new rider aboard to be a big threat in this competitive turf allowance. LOTTIE (11) overcame trouble to win first time late March with a dangerous trainer/ jockey combination (21%). AMNICALOLA (10) broke her maiden first time out on the turf and picks up rider Julian Leparoux for a high percentage turf barn (20%).
