Race 1: TWITTERVERSE (6) makes her second start at Keeneland for a high percentage barn. She has early speed and most likely a fast track this time to be the main threat today. HOME TOWN GAL (3) runs first time tag and should like the return to a longer distance. JUSTICE JUDY (2) has hit the board in the last eight starts and should move forward with a race over the track.
Race 2: HEAVEN’S TOUCH (5) has early speed, but also returns off a layoff. He has several sharp works (clocker’s report) to be tough from the gate. CORE DESTINATION (4) returns off a long break, but plenty of works and has tactical speed to go the distance. GUMDROP (3) has done well at this level, but on the grass going long. She leads into the race in top form.
Race 3: LONELILY (3) is well-bred filly for a sharp outfit that showed talent on the grass to be a major player. EMPRESS MAKER (8) rallied late for second and has tactical speed from a winning stable this meet. DELLAROBIA (7) has early speed and very consistent on the turf.
Race 4: WAGSON (6) runs first off the claim and moves up in class. Closer should be a major player for sharp connections. PLENTY ELUSIVE (7) training well (clocker report) and drops in class. NIGHT MANEUVER (3) also runs first off the claim and should lay close to the pace for a sold trip.
Race 5: ECTON BLUE (3) makes his second start off a long layoff and may like the turn back in distance. TEXAS TWO STEP (1) makes his first start for a 29% trainer this year. He has powerful workouts and runs with blinkers on. LET’S GO BEN (6) ran third with a troubled start in an allowance race at Saratoga. He’s a consistent exotics player to throw in the mix.
Race 6: ENGAGINGLEE (9) has several strong performances going long on the grass. She should move forward second start off the layoff and added distance. SLIPPERY ROSE (4) is a high purchased filly that makes her first lifetime start with a good series of works. Trainer/ jockey duo wins at 24% in the last year. SHIFT COLORS (10) tries hard every time and needs the right trip at the right distance. Good works to be ready today.
Race 7: MARSH CREEK (3) is a 3yo taking on older horses in an allowance event. He won wire to wire at Saratoga and first off the claim for this barn wins at 30%. PROVEN WARRIOR (7) has been training well for a big comeback after he broke his maiden last January and hasn’t run since then. RIYADH (6) broke his maiden at first asking with a troubled trip, but displayed plenty of talent to be a contender against this group.
Race 8: The Rood & Riddle Dowager Stakes
CAT’S CLAW (2) is a well-bred deep closer that gets first time Lasix and best effort has been at the distance. CAROLINE THOMAS (13) is the class of the race that returns fresh and the one to beat. I O IRELAND (10) leads into the race in top form and she’s versatile.
Race 9: OCEANWAVE (4) only lost by a length first time out and should improve in this spot. STOPAHOLIC (2) should like the stretch out in distance. ZIG ZAG (7) shows a good series of works to be ready on debut with a top rider in the irons.
