Race 1: HOPE’S ROSE (1) showed early speed on debut against better maidens and will break from the rail to advance second time out. How she will handle the polytrack first time is unknown. ERZULIE DANTOR (5) should be on or near the lead for an improved effort second start off the layoff. Nice workout over the local surface on October 13th. J P’S FLASHY HONEY (8) may like the return to the softer footing and some class relief for a hot barn.
Race 2: BROTHER BIRD (5) may be slightly better on the dirt, but seems to do well at the starter allowance level and should be stalking at a better-suited distance. PRACTICE TEE (12) will have to overcome the outermost post position, but veteran runner can be a player on the dirt at this level so hopefully like the poly. SPARTAN KING (8) has faced some tough open claimers and goes for three in a row.
Race 3: KITCHEN POLICE (1) competes for a top-notch 2yo trainer his first time out and has solid works over the main track to be ready, but draws the intimating rail today. MARTY THE MONSTOR (10) caught a runaway winner at first asking, but did show late interest. This colt can move forward in this race. FORTUNE OF WAR (6) gets a better post position to break from to offer more as he makes his third career start.
Race 4: REGAL JOANNE (3) exits a competitive second level allowance race and hopes to make some noise for the leading connections in her second start off the claim sitting just off the pace. CHINCHERO (2) won her latest against easier company, which was earlier this meet. She runs back quickly and tries a shorter distance in a tougher field. WAHINE BLING (7) seems to be a better sprinter and should like the cut back in distance second start off the break.
Race 5: BABY TITAN (6) runs for high percentage connections with debut runners (29%) and has several fast works in the last month to be a contender in this spot. AWESOME SKY (1) may be bred for longer distances, but barn has been hot with 2yos this meet and most recent work from the gate is appealing. BRO RODRIQEAUX (2) exits a key race and can improve second time out.
Race 6: LONG STATION (8) exits his best performance and may like the turn back in distance for a capable trainer. RUMBLEFORTHEROSES (1) displayed a lot of talent of debut despite being green. He may benefit from a shorter distance at second asking. VALDINA’S WILL (6) ran well on debut when he showed early speed and settled for second in a competitive maiden race on the grass.
Race 7: TREND (4) has the tendency to finish second in most of his starts to make him a solid exacta player, but he enters the race in sharp form and loves the distance over soft footing to give a closer look at decent odds. SERUNI (2) returns fresh with consistent works to be ready in an easier spot than his last two starts. He ran third behind HOY Wise Dan on the grass last time out and has a solid record at the distance. PURE TACTICS (8) was an impressive winner when he broke the track record at LAD last time out. He returns off a brief freshening to be a major threat late in this spot.
Race 8: LIBERATED (6) seems to compete well at this level and should be tough flying late at the distance in her second start off the break. TWO TO TANGO (5) is another serious threat late if she can handle the turn back in distance. She leads into the race in top form and rider ships in. CLOUD SCAPES (12) broke her maiden over the poly at Woodbine last year and returns off a long layoff. New barn does well with layoff types to be a threat down the stretch.
Race 9: THE GRADE III PIN OAK VALLEY VIEW STAKES
SUMMER OF FUN (3) slightly regressed after a big win off the break at Saratoga and can bounce back. She faced graded stakes winner ALTERITE in her latest and ran a close fifth. Filly is major contender saving ground early in today’s feature. OVERHEARD (8) ran well here last year in the Appalachian Stakes and finished second in her last two behind speedster LEIGH COURT. EVERY WAY (7) has solid turf form that has faced some nice fillies in the past. She leads into this race in top form.
Race 10: GLAMOUR GALORE (7) won wire-to-wire last time out against condition claimers and versatile filly has a win and a second over the main track to be highly favored in the finale. GUILED REWARD (4) is a seven-time winner and gets a sharp rider aboard to be a threat at long odds. DEVIOUS SISTER (8) takes on easier claiming company compared to her last and ran second her last fall.
