    Thursday / October 19

    Race 1

Turn to Reality (5) is interesting at a price here with the first-time drop into claiming company and Geroux in the saddle.  There's no standout among the favorites so that makes a price play more appealing.  Key this one in exacta boxes with CIslandsurprise, It's the Truth and Titanium.  Exacta boxes 5-1, 5-3, 5-6

    Race 2

Marlinspike (3) was well-bet in the debut and trainer Harty does well with horses making their second start.  Little Code and Auntie's the One are the ones to use with her in exacta boxes.  3-6, 3-4

    Race 3

Cause to Action (6) drops out of straight maiden company and Asmussen wins at a 20 percent clip with second-time starters.  This one could run first or second at a good price.  Key this pick with Pete Marwick, Meilleur and Great Sky.  Exacta boxes 6-1, 6-2, 6-3

    Race 4

Miss Katie Bug (3) debuted in a key race and finished third.  With a pedigree that suggests an affinity for turf and distance, she's hard to look past but there are four horses at good prices that are live contenders here, starting with Deadline in the second start and stretching out for McPeek.  Mahvelous Kitten, Kabella and Last Play are the others.  Key them with the top pick in exactas.  Exacta boxes 3-2, 3-10, 3-9, 3-13

    Race 5

Kitten's Solution (5) is the pick here off the big class drop and some good local works but don't overlook Weekend Town (3), who has a race over the track at this meet and those "runbacks" often is a potent angle here.  Key those two on top in exactas and add No Richie and All Day Trip in the second slot.  Exacta part-wheel 5,3, with 5,3,1,8

    Race 6

Fifth Title (9) has only eight lifetime starts so there's still some upside left.  Leparoux in the saddle adds to the appeal and Fifth Title had trouble last time out at Kentucky Downs.  Play this one in a four-horse exacta box that includes Mr. Meister, Gio's Calling and Bingo Kitten.  Exacta box 9-3-10-8

    Race 7

Oskar Blues (5) won first-time-out at Saratoga and then went into major stakes company.  This drop down should suit him well and he's bred to like two turns.  Key him in exactas with Quip and Platinum Equity.  Exacta boxe 5-4, 5-3

    Race 8

Some in Tieme (2) looked like a good one after those races in Kentucky in the spring.  Not sure what happened to cause the layoff but McPeek's horses win at a 23 percent clip off this kind of layoff and there are sharp local works, too.  Manitoulin (13) has run well here and just posted a 99 Beyer so it's one of these two for me with a slight lean to Some in Tieme.  Canessar, Rnown and Final Copy are others to consider.  Exacta part-wheel 2,13 with 2,13,3,1,6

    Race 9

No standout here and in this kind of field, a horse like Schoenhardt (5) intrigues me.  He comes out of straight maiden company and he beat almost half the field last time.  Put him in an exacta box with Nasty Critter, Make It Work and Toothpic.  Exacta box 5-4-9-7

    Late Pick 4 (starts in race 6):  9,3,8,10 with 5 with 2,13,1,3 with 5,9,7,4
