st Race: ZERIMAR (#3) has been off since June but drops in class for his return and hooks a fairly weak bunch. DOUBLE SENCE (#2) runs for a tag for the first time and is a contender. SENSATIONAL RIDE (#4) has the speed to be dangerous.
nd Race: FENERBAHCE (#2) comes off a game win at Belterra Park and is capable of the repeat score today. JACKE THE WON (#8) finished right behind the top pick last out and Robby Albarado picks up the mount. INCITEMENT (#4) has won four races this year and is a definite threat.
rd Race: CORT (#5) didn't break sharply last out and failed to run his best race. He has the speed to be on or near the lead today and can be expected to run much better with Corey Lanerie picking up the mount. VITTORIOSO (#3) will be running at the end and looks like the one to beat. CHA MONO (#4) fits with these.
th Race: SNICKERBOXER (#1) was no match for a runaway winner over this track earlier in the meet but ran well to finish second in that one. He should get a good trip from the inside post and gets the nod in a well-matched claiming test. GIMMEADRINK (#2) has been running on the all-weather but has good dirt form and posted a solid work here last Sunday. ANAIR (#8) has been in the money in eight of his 10 races this year and has to be respected.
th Race: OUR STORMIN NORMAN (#9) faded after setting the pace in a tough turf race last out. Trainer Mark Casse moves him back to the dirt where early runners have been faring well recently. LOCAL HERO (#1) debuts for trainer Steve Asmussen off a series of solid works. He figures to be tough at first asking. CREATIVE COURAGE (#3) went evenly in his only start and should improve.
th Race: PAY THE KITTEN (#7) has been away from the races for almost a year but is training very well for her comeback. Trainer Mike Maker has solid numbers with his returning runners and this one is capable of winning with Florent Geroux in the irons. SISTINE SISTA (#6) ran well at Kentucky Downs and bets blinkers for this one. She is training well and looks like the one to beat. LEMON SQUEEZE (#5) was second to her stablemate last out at Woodbine and trainer Mark Casse’s runners are always dangerous.
th Race: THE TRUTH OR ELSE (#5) didn't fire in the Ack Ack (G3) but ran well in his three prior starts in New York. He figures to be running at the end and should get a good trip with Julien Leparoux picking up the mount. Give him the slight edge in a tough allowance sprint. SCHIVARELLI (#2) beat the top pick last out and has the tactical speed to be in contention throughout. His best makes him the one to beat. GORGEOUS BIRD (#1) is training extremely well at Churchill Downs and if he breaks sharply from the rail he will be a contender.
th Race – Rood & Riddle Dowager (G3): DARING DUCHESS (#7) has run well in both of her starts since being claimed by trainer Mike Maker in July. She is proven at the 1½-mile distance and can spring the mild upset with Florent Geroux picking up the mount. ELEKTRUM (#2) is the definite class in here. She is winless this year but has been hooking much better and will be hard to beat. PAIGE (#4) had a rough trip at Kentucky Downs and rates a chance.
th Race: SPANISH ARCH (#11) exits a key race at Ellis and drops in for a tag today. She rates the edge with Julien Leparoux picking up the mount. DAHLIA'S FOXY LADY (#9) was no match for a runaway winner in her debut but ran a decent race to finish fourth and should move forward off that effort. CANNY (#7) has the speed to be dangerous.
