    Friday, April 14th, 2018

Race 1:  ART IMITATES LIFE (2) is the one to beat with fast works to handle the transition to first time dirt and solid turf sprints under his belt.  YOUNG AMERICAN (3) has been training well with quick works to manage the turn back in distance.  FLEETWAY (4) may enjoy the shorter distance, but surface switch is uncertain.

    Picks 2-3-4

Race 2:  ROUGH SEA (7) has been training forwardly for a strong performance on debut for the Casse barn (15%).  BRITISH HUMOR (4) has the experience to be considered a contender at this level.  AMIGO’S AFFAIR (3) performed well on debut and some class relief should help the 4yo move forward today.

    Picks 7-4-3

Race 3:  A DIXIE TWISTER (3) hopes to leap forward in stalking position with a drop in class.  BLAZE STAR (1) mostly likely will inherit the lead from the rail while leading into this in sharp form.  TIMIDO (2) will be plenty fit off her last race and nice workout over the track on 4/2.

    Picks 3-1-2

Race 4:  WESSEX (3) has a solid resume in her lightly raced career and excellent form going on the turf to be the one to beat.  RES ISPA (9) should move forward with race under her belt this season. CAUSE IOYA (11) runs at the allowance again to prove she can compete for winning connections.

    Picks 3-9-11

Race 5: BIG KICK (3) returns off a brief freshening and returns to one her favorite courses while the race should set up well for the 8yo lady to return to her winning streak.  CAUSE I’M ALEX (8) shows up every time to be a major player while facing open company.  FEROCIOUS TIGER (2) tries dirt first time with a good work over the dirt and jockey Rosario in the irons.

    Picks 3-8-2

Race 6: HARKNESS (5) tries a further distance with a new trainer to get to the winner’s circle today.  MOANA (9) ran well on debut and the one to beat from the Pletcher barn.  ACCESS CODE (7) hopes to improve at the longer distance in which she is bred well to handle today’s distance at long odds.

    Picks 5-9-7

Race 7: ANTONOE (11) steps down in class after a tough schedule in France and barn succeeds at a high percentage in this spot to be the one to watch.  BURMA ROAD (8) could be tough from the gate if ready off the long layoff for hot connections.  VAGABOUND PRINCESS (5) returns to the track where she broke her maiden and leads into this off sharp performances.

    Picks 11-8-5

Race 8:  BIG RED ROCKET (4) cuts back in distance with blinkers off for a winning effort third start off the layoff.  STAR HILL (8) is the class of the race while returning to shorter distance which she broke her maiden at 7f and also removes the blinks.  SPEIGHTFUL SONG (1) needs to break well to be a player on the frontend from the inside at a price.

    Picks 4-8-1

Race 9: The Grade 1 Makers Mile

BOLO (4) exits a close finish in his latest and makes his third start off the layoff with the high speed figures at the distance with jockey Mike Smith shipping in to retain the mount. The 5yo should be sitting just a few lengths off the early pacesetters in this highly competitive field.  BLACKTYPE (1) has been training forwardly to be ready to fire his best off the bench and expect to be player down the stretch.  HEART TO HEART (9) won his last start and hopes to make the lead for another winning performance over one of his preferred turf courses (2-1-1-0).

    Picks 4-1-9

    Race 10:

BORSA VENTO (4) has the experience and plenty fit for the turn back in distance plus jockey Velazquez aboard.  PERFECT PARTNER (2) has the fast drills to be feared by others as he makes his debut start for a high percentage trainer (15%).  LAST STAGE (5) may prefer the longer distance compared to his lone start at 5f for top connections.

    Picks 4-2-5
