    Sunday, October 15th, 2017

Race 1:  SANAVI (3) won easy at Saratoga on the dirt to handle the move back the surface off a brief freshening for high percentage connections (23%).  WHATEVERYBODYWANTS (5) was the beaten favorite on a rough day when he was ranked and steadied during the race.  We should see a stronger performance from the 4yo and he has backclass. PRIVATE TIME (1) should have early speed on the rail and stick around in the exotics at good odds.

    Picks 3-5-1

Race 2:  TOLSTOY (3) may be in the right spot to break his maiden for his first start for a new trainer and runs first time gelding while training forwardly.  STARSTRUCK KITTEN (8) may like the easier company and shorter distance.  INSURGENT (6) has a good work over the track and takes on a light maiden claiming field to be dangerous if he finds his old form.

    Picks 3-8-6

Race 3:  CATANOVA (6) has been a sharp sprinter at the distance to be the one to beat as he returns to a favorable track.  PADEN (2) may just need some class relief to get the job done in his third start off the layoff.  WHYRUAWESOME (7) ran like his old self last out and may move forward today while being reunited with jockey Hernandez.

    Picks 6-2-7

Race 4:  SPECIAL OPS (6) has a versatile running style to help him win three in a row.  He turned out to be a nice claim for winning connections and will have to beat his stablemate, SHINING COPPER (5), who had backclass and dangerous on or near the lead plus he gave an honest effort for his first start in 13 months.  MARENGO ROAD (3) appears to be a solid racehorse with several outstanding performances and may bounce back while returning to the turf.

    Picks 6-5-3

Race 5:  UNION BOWMAN (10) exits late rallying second against similar as the veteran goes for his 18th career win, but first at the distance.  ORIENTAL CROWN (3) was in trouble in the final furlong and faded to dismiss the race and bounce back with a clean trip.  KELAMONSTER (5) is lightly raced with three wins and has some tactical speed to be a player at long odds.

    Picks 10-3-5

Race 6:  BRIELLE’S APPEAL (3) is a well bred filly that won wire to wire at first asking and this could be the right spot for her snatch another win.  KAYLEN’S REVENGE (8) makes her second attempt in a turf sprint to move forward today.  PASTIME (1) does well with an inside post and rider ships in for the mount after she improved in her latest and working strongly.

    Picks 3-8-1

Race 7:  MALIBU TREASURE (5) likely to improve second time on the dirt at a slightly further distance and gets away from the rail with Lasix.  GIANNA’S GIFT (1) exits a tough maiden race on the grass and may like the move to dirt, which she has been training sharply over the surface.  GALILIANCO (10) switches hands after a poor effort in a key race which the winner came back to win the G1 Alcibiades at Keeneland.  She has good works and move to the main track to help her case.

    Picks 5-1-10

Race 8:  SUMMER LUCK (7) has been sharp on the grass in her last two starts and one of the favorites to watch in this spot.  LAST PROMISE (10) was impressive last out when she broke her maiden and could be a serious threat one again as she leads into the race in top form.  BLUE COLLAR (11) exits her best effort with a nice work plus she won here last Fall.

    Picks 7-10-11

Race 9:  GIRLS KNOW BEST (6) tries to repeat while making her first start at Keeneland.  Filly could regress slightly and still be tough on the frontend.  PROMISES BROKEN (8) returns off a long break and competes at one of the lowest levels of her career to give a second look with promising workouts.  ANGELO’S ASHES (5) runs with blinkers off and also returns off a layoff for a winning barn this season.

    Picks 6-8-5
