    Friday, October 13th, 2017

Race1:  THE WEEF (7) ran well at this level on the dirt last out and training well for an honest effort with jockey Geroux back aboard.  SAFARI HEART (4) competes for the high percentage Ward Stable to be a threat in a soft maiden claiming race.  BRUNETTE (3) may prefer the longer distance after a poor effort going short at 7/2 odds.

    Picks 7-4-3

Race 2:  VACANZA (3) improved in his latest to be a threat as he makes his third start off the layoff with plenty of early pace to chase.  FAVORITE COACH (7) back to the dirt and Keeneland for a big performance today.  TWIRLING CINNAMON (2) raced third at a higher tag to be tough second off claim for capable connections.

    Picks 3-7-2

Race 3:  RIDE ON FAITH (5) drops in class to find his way to the winner’s circle with a late run.  WILD WILL (7) raced evenly in his latest going long and has a nice breeze with blinkers on today.  ATHLETIC TEMPER (8) appears to be the main speed in this race.

    Picks 5-7-8

Race 4:  DREAMING OF JO JO (6) ran well early on debut and should improve second time at the distance.  TARANTO (4) is well bred for the grass and raced evenly on debut to consider second time on the grass. CHEYTAC (5) displayed talent when second turning for home at first asking to be a threat with rider Geroux picking up the mount.

    Picks 6-4-5

Race 5:  FLASH N’ DANCE (12) has two solid efforts in dirt sprints to be the one to beat and hopefully jockey Geroux now in the saddle will guide him to victory.  GORGEOUS IN RAGS (8) has plenty of works to be ready on debut with a nice pedigree and high price tag at the sales last year ($110K).  DAGNEY’S WARRIOR (1) should be the early speed on the rail to watch from gate to wire?

    Picks 12-8-1

Race 6:  LINDA (9) is a G2 winner who will be facing allowance company after several strong finishes against graded stakes company.  She is the one to beat with a good effort last month and three works.  INVENIAM VIAM (2) returns to her preferred distance with appealing recent form while taking on tougher ladies.  MO KNOWS (7) needed her race last out and a serious candidate the distance on the grass at second start off the layoff.

    Picks 9-2-7

Race 7:  PROMISES FULFILLED (5) kept his promise and won at first asking and should improve with sharp works for a high percentage barn.  DREAMER’S POINT (4) won with tactical speed on debut in a key race.  TRAPPEZOID (2) has two wins and dangerous with a sharp break, but jockey Landeros rides second choice.

    Picks 5-4-2

Race 8:  LANEY (9) nearly caught the winner in her latest and a serous threat at the distance.  AWESTRUCK (7) hopes to bounce back with a brief freshening after a faltering effort in a quick pace race last out.  SHEPLAYSTHEFIELD (6) also would like to return to her old self with a fast track today.

    Picks 9-7-6

Race 9:  The G3 Buffalo Trace Franklin County

MORTICIA (7) is a sharp runner going short on the grass with multiple stakes victories and the ability to rate/press the early pace.  KASUGA (4) is the main danger from gate to wire.  MISS ELLA (1) ran poorly as the favorite in her last start to be vulnerable as one of the favorite, but a sharp break may be all she needs.

    Picks 7-4-1

Race 10: UNITED PATRIOT (3) gets some class relief after a close fourth in his latest.  NOT FAKE NEWS (11) may perform better at this level with blinkers on for a hot barn.  MAGNANIMUS MAN (7) runs with blinkers off and could be just what he needs to finish stronger at a lower level.

    Picks 3-11-7
