WEDNESDAY / April 16
Race 1: (3) Lincoln Law gets blinkers and that equipment change represents a 25 percent win rate for the trainer. I also like that a hot jock, Stewart Elliot, takes the mount. Exacta boxes 3-5, 3-9
Race 2: (4) LA Freeway goes for a trainer with a good win off the claim. I like that he comes off two one-mile races and now cuts back in distance and I like that Joe Rocco takes the mount, as he is having another productive spring meet here. Exacta boxes: 4-2, 4-3
Race 3: (4) Five Afleet has a race over this track at the meet and he caught a wide trip that day. He's won here before and the switch to Rocco could pay dividends. Exacta boxes 4-1, 4-2, 4-8
Race 4: (10) Frazier's Pegasus has already won here and I also like to bet horses with a race over the track at the current meet. The fact that he's taking a class drop enhances the appeal. Exacta boxes: 10-6, 10-5, 10-1
Race 5: (1) Reflecting won here off a similar layoff last spring so he can do it again. Also, check out the April 6 workout here--that suggests a horse ready to run. (2) Grand Arch likes this track, too, and is the one to beat. Exacta boxes: 1-2, 1-6, 1-4
Race 6: (7) Sharp Stick got off to a slow start in the debut but was flying at the finish. The trainer excels on the sprint-to-route angle and Leparoux takes the mount. Exacta boxes: 7-4, 7-10, 7-3
Race 7: (6) Villandry has recorded two of his three wins on turf and he's run well off layoffs before, so he's capable to firing fresh. (7) Kalamos on the class drop is the one to beat for me. I think one of those two wins so I'll play both on top in exactas: 6 & 7 with 6,7,2,3
Race 8: (6) Viola should be fit off those races at Tampa and he comes here with a drop in class, plus having displayed an affinity for this track. Exacta boxes: 6-9, 6-7, 6-3
Late Pick 4 part-wheel (starts in race 5): 1,2 with 7,3,4,10 with 6,7,2,3 with 6,9
