Race 1: WEEKEND WISH (3) appears to be the one to beat as she goes for four straight wins with a strong record at the distance. COTTON CLUB CUTIE (2) should be involved early on the race, which she should move forward in her seconds start off the layoff. LUCE MIA (1) runs with blinkers off for a better effort to beat top two this time out.
Race 2: SLICK PARDONED ME (2) should be tough with his consistency compared to most in this field. He should be tough stalking the pace with his regular rider aboard. PAINT THE MOON (1) runs first time tag after a just missed performance in his latest. PRACTICE TEE (9) also very consistent runner as a 9yo and may come flying late if there’s enough early pace in the race.
Race 3: MAZIETTE (1) exits a wide trip against similar company, which she just missed for second and makes her third start off the break for a capable trainer. TIZ SEXY NOW (5) was the beaten favorite in the same race as top choice and could improve off that effort. BENNY’S BOMBSHELL (6) hopes to show more with a drop in class and two drills in the am.
Race 4: SWEETWATER (2) should like the cut back in distance for her second start on the dirt for the top barn on the grounds. CINCO ZIPPY (5) draws a good post to run better as she returns to her preferred surface. EVENING PRIZE (7) has several drills to be fit at first asking in a soft maiden claiming field.
Race 5: TASUNKE (3) returns off a brief freshening for her third career start against similar with sharp breezes over the track (WR) for the Pletcher stable (23%). NONCOMMITAL (1) tracked the quick early pace only to weaken in the final strides so expect a stronger effort at second asking. YUM YUM (8) had a wide trip around the turn with a late rally to expect a better effort with a fast track this outing.
Race 6: SURGICAL STRIKE (1) reunited with jockey Albarado for a better effort over a firm turf course for his second attempt at the distance. SAMICEAN (5) rallied late to break his maiden at the distance first time out in a field of eleven. He should be tough down the stretch in a race full of early pace. MADTAP (9) also broke his maiden at first asking and could set-up well for the TAPIT colt drawn to the outside.
Race 7: SPEAK SOFTLY (4) exits an improved effort as she makes her third off the break. Filly could be tough in stalking position at decent odds. BOMBO GENESIS (2) was dangerous from off the pace in her lone start over ten months ago. She will be a major player if she runs back to that race as she makes a surface switch. BIRD SENSE (9) ran in several competitive maiden allowance fields, but seems to struggle with the longer distances at short odds this time.
Race 8: THUNDERGRAM (2) should be forwardly placed from the gate for a stronger performance, which he most likely needed his last race. He will have to hold them off late, but he has solid record at the distance (9-2-3-1). BOLD CONQUEST (6) has been in several tough spots to find his way to the winner’s circle. He should move forward with some class relief in his second start off the layoff. AWOPAHO (1) enjoys the longer distances with a nice record in his lightly raced career. He will have to contend with top choice early so hope for a square price.
Race 9: PERSONAL DIARY (1A) is the class of the race with the best record at the distance and the one to beat in her third start off the layoff back to an expected firm turf course. AL’S GAL (2) seems to fire late every time over the grass and should be sharp with a brief freshening. SHARE THE SUGAR (4) leads into the race at the top of her game and also a threat turning for home if she can keep up with top choices.
Race 10: DONEGAL MOON (3) should like the fast track going a flat mile today and the one to beat from the Pletcher barn. WILD MAN (1) should be tough with a return to easier company at a shorter distance for the Asmussen stable and worth taking a closer look at 3-1 odds. AIRMAN’S CREED (9) showed quick early speed in his first outing to be considered a player early on over a fast track at second asking.
